Do you want to enjoy the serenity and beauty of animals on the savanna? Are you looking for an amazing resort to enjoy with fun activities for your whole family? How about some of the most unique food on Disney property? If so, then you may want to consider Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on your next visit! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has the best theming and is truly the most beautiful resort in the Deluxe category~in my opinion. Our family was able to enjoy Animal Kingdom Lodge a few trips ago, and would happily stay there again. If you are considering this resort for your next trip, check out these FAQs about Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!
What is the theming of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge? This amazing resort is set on four savannas, all home to exotic animals from Africa. You can book a room with a savanna view. Or, if you don’t have a savanna view, you can certainly see the animals from various areas of the resort. You can even look out on the Arusha Savanna right from the lobby. The floor to ceiling windows allow a spectacular view!
Is there character dining at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge? No, there is not. However, you will find the best breakfast at Boma, located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Boma is also open for dinner, and Jiko the Cooking Place is open for dinner as well. If you want a great savanna view while you eat, you will want to eat at Sanaa. Due to the theming of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, these restaurants have many exotic and cultural selections on the menu. They are great for foodies, or even those of you who want to try something new!
What makes Animal Kingdom Lodge unique? The theming in and of itself makes it extremely unique. The decor and lobby are absolutely amazing. The rooms have these fun African touches, right alongside your traditional Mickey towel designs. You can also choose a room with a queen and a bunk bed, which is fun for families. There are hundreds of pieces of authentic African art and the Castmembers are a cultural experience in themselves. Take some time to talk with them, and learn from them.
Does Animal Kingdom Lodge have rooms for 5? Yes, but they are not standard rooms. The standard rooms do not fit five guests, unless one is under the age of 3. Families of 5 will need to stay in a 1 bedroom suite at Club Level if you want to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge kid friendly? YES! We stayed there with two 7 year olds and a 9 month old. We were so excited to have a bunk bed room. Super fun for the kids! There is also a zero entry area to the Uzima Pool, and the 60+ foot water slide is awesome for older kids! The Mara, which is the quick service location, has kid friendly food and is right across from the pool. There are always kids’ activities going on as well. My children made masks one afternoon, sometimes Castmembers will sit with children on the floor of the lobby and make African etchings, and there is a fun playground.
Overall, we loved Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I think your family will as well. Have you stayed at this Disney resort? If so, what did you think?
