Hello Couponing to Disney readers! I’m Carrie, vacation specialist with Destinations in Florida, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, and I visit you each week here on Couponing to Disney to answer some Disney FAQs. I love hanging out on Couponing to Disney every week with you, answering questions about the Happiest Place on Earth! I am working my way through each of the 4 Disney Parks, giving you some FAQs about each one. If you missed them, check out my Disney’s Animal Kingdom Planning Tips and Disney’s EPCOT Planning Tips. This week, look at some planning tips for Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
What Disney Resorts are closest to Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
Disney’s Boardwalk area is very close to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In this area are Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Beach Club, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resorts. All of these are within walking distance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In the moderate category, Disney’s Coronado Springs isn’t far from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, either.
How much time should I spend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
Disney’s Hollywood Studios doesn’t have a lot of attractions, but it does have some great ones! Many families, who have purchased park hopper tickets, will split their time at DHS with other parks. For example, visit DHS in the morning, until about lunch and then hop to EPCOT. Or, spend a large portion of their morning and afternoon at Animal Kingdom and hop to DHS in the evening for a few attractions, shows, and Fantasmic. With base tickets, one full day from open to close at Hollywood Studios is a good amount of time.
What attractions should I use a FastPass Plus for at Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to three VERY popular attractions at Walt Disney World. If you want to enjoy Toy Story Midway Mania, you’ll for sure want to schedule a FastPass for it. Rock N Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror are also very popular. Those are my suggestions for FastPasses at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
What are some of the “over looked” attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
Are you looking for a fun, FREE souvenir? Then visit the Animation Academy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You are led through a half hour drawing session, by a real Imagineer. You leave with a great drawing that YOU created of a Disney character that you can frame at home! Our family has even enjoyed this several times back to back while at Hollywood Studios. Our kids love it! Also, in the same building as the Animation Academy, is a huge character meet and greet. We’ve seen Pooh, Sorcerer Mickey, the Incredibles, Chip and Dale, as well as several others. Some of the harder to meet characters are often in there.
What transportation does Disney offer to Hollywood Studios?
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is serviced by the Disney motor coach system. The only exception to this is if you choose to walk the path or take the boat between Disney’s Boardwalk Area and Hollywood Studios.
