Popcorn buckets are adorable, great souvenirs and one of the best snack values at Disney! A simple bucket is $12 filled (super adorable specialty buckets can run as much as $25), and each buttery refill after that is $2. It’s great to share, a good snack to eat as you rush from place to place, and it tastes yummy! Unfortunately for us, my kid is just as much a popcorn fiend as I am- she would snatch the bucket and gobble two thirds of it before anyone could wrestle it away from her. Good thing this is the cheapest snack out there.
But- did you know there are more options available than just buttery delicious popcorn?
Definitely keep your popcorn bucket on you when you head to Epcot, as the park known for it’s food offerings delivers once again, in the form of specialty popcorn flavors!
You can find Cheddar Cheese, Buffalo Bleu Cheese and Sour Cream & Chive over at a little cart near Journey into Imagination. These flavors are delicious and give you a little something extra- but be aware these aren’t exactly fresh popped. They arrive to the cart in giant bags and are “loaded” for purchase out of the bays from there. Our favorite was the Sour Cream & Chive, but that’s just my flavor jam in general.
Don’t worry though, there is another fresh popped deliciousness available for the $2 refills!
Heading into the Canada Pavilion, near the path that leads you to Le Cellier, you can grab some fresh popped maple popcorn! YUM! When we tried it, some of the popcorn was just a bit over done- not burnt, but not quite the usual fluffy perfection. I also wish there had been more maple flavor, but the parts that were covered were so good! I’d absolutely buy it again, though have some wet wipes handy, it’s a fun and sticky treat.
Epcot really has it’s popcorn refill game on point. I wish we would see a signature flavor in each park, but alas- for some reason Disney doesn’t ask my opinion.
As always, you can get amazing bags of caramel or milk chocolate caramel popcorn ($4 for a small, $6 for a large) at Karamell-Küche in Epcot’s Germany Pavilion, or prepackaged flavored popcorn is for sale at multiple retail locations in all the parks and in Disney Springs. It’s just important to realize that these are not valid for the $2 popcorn refills. Instead you must pay full price, or use snack credits, as applicable.
