When you are at a restaurant, don’t forget the crayons! This is an email from my reader Sara:
I have a 16 month old that has just started coloring with crayons. Now back to school is the best time of the year to buy crayons at a bargain…like Publix for .33 cents.
But, over the last year when we go to restaurants for some reason the hostess always gives us a kids menu with crayons even before she knew how to use them.
So I would stick them in my purse and bring them home. You usually get 4 crayons where ever you go eat, sometimes 2 now with the recession and all…but over almost a year of collecting I have 28 crayons in a box I never had to pay for aside from my meal of course : )
So next time you are out to eat don’t leave those crayons on the table! Taken them home!

I keep a bunch of restaurant crayons in my purse (in a baggie due to AZ heat, you never know when one crayon might melt – esp the lower quality restaurant ones). These are WONDERFUL at a dr’s office. Once back in the room pull them out and let the kids color on the paper that covers the bed until the dr comes in! Its like an insta-mural for the dr :) and it keeps the kids happy and creative. Even sick kids enjoy this activity.
It comes in handy too when you go to restaurant and the kids only get yellow and orange to use. Presto chang-o, I have the rest of the rainbow in my purse for them to use!

We save them, and use them for projects like Making heart shaped crayons for valentines day. Teachers love them!

Current set of toddlers, restuarant crayons, stain! Theydo notwash off my walls, like crayolas do.
Just my two cents.
