If you have a Fastpass+ for an attraction that malfunctions/goes down, Disney will email you and let you know your options. The good news is that you don’t just lose your Fastpass+ because of ride issues!
You are given two options on what to do about your Fastpass+. You can either use it anytime that day on the attraction for which it was originally booked or you can use it anytime that day on an alternate attraction. This list of alternate attraction varies depending on which ride you originally selected.
We had a Fastpass+ for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh for 9:40 AM and unfortunately the ride was down. Disney emailed me with a subject of “Alert: Change to your upcoming Disney FASTPASS+ experience” and a list of options. We had the option of using the Fastpass+ anytime that day for Winnie the Pooh or using it on one of the listed alternate attractions:
We decided to redeem it on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We just walked up, scanned our band and were admitted into the line. Easy peasy!
So before you head to redeem your Fastpass+, check your email to confirm that it is still operating.

Oh wow!! I wish I had known when we went a few weeks ago. I had a few fastpasses to change because of technical issues, but unfortunately, I just cancelled the Fastpass, then I tried to find something else for later in the day… Not ideal!
