Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can be overwhelming especially for those going for the first time. Here are five things that stress out Walt Disney World Guests:
1. Where to say – With over 20 different Walt Disney World Resorts, choosing the best one for your family can be difficult. It isn’t just price you have to consider. There is also location, room size, on-site restaurants, linens, pools and lots more. I’ve put together a three day course of everything that you need to know to select the perfect Walt Disney World Resort for your family. Go here to sign up.
2. Do you need the Dining Plan – This question is the #1 thing that readers ask me. And there is really no black and white answer. It really comes down to each family’s specific needs. The best way to determine if the Dining Plan is worth it for your family is to create a mock day. Plan out what you would eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack and then compare it to the cost of the Dining Plan. If you spent more out of pocket, the Dining Plan is worth it for you.
3. Where to eat – You’ve got to be know which Table-Service Restaurants you want to experience at least 180 days in advance. Who knows where they want to eat 6 months beforehand? That is one of the most challenging parts of planning your vacation. The good part is that you can change your mind up to 24 hours before your reservation without penalty. The following is a list of restaurants that you must book 180 days in advance if you want the opportunity to dine at them:
- Cinderella’s Royal Table
- Be Our Guest
- Chef Mickey’s
- Akershus
- ‘Ohanas
4. What parks to visit – How many days should you visit Walt Disney World? Which parks should you visit on which days? I recommend you visit at least 6 full days. Spend 1 day in each park, an extra day at the Magic Kingdom and your final day can be used to visit whichever park you feel you didn’t experience enough.
5. What Fastpass+ to book – You can book 3 Fastpasses per day of your trip ahead of time. But which attractions should you choose? You definitely want to book the headliners. That includes Frozen Ever After or Soarin’ or Test Track (you can only pick one of those three), Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway or Millennium Falcon: Smuglers Run (gotta love the tiered Fastpasses at Hollywood Studios and Epcot), Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
