Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions page! I will be updating this with questions that people often ask. If you have one, feel free to leave it in the comments.

What Do the Abbreviations Mean?

SS = Smart Source insert
RP = Red Plum insert
P&G = Proctor and Gamble insert
*The dates with above abbreviations is the date it was in the Sunday paper. So 1/1 SS would mean the coupon is found in the January 1st Smart Source Insert.

ECB = Extra Care Bucks at CVS
RR = Register Rewards at Walgreens
WYB = When you buy

If you are confused about any other abbreviation that I use, please let me know!

I had visited your site previously and thought you had talked about how to get a photo from a disney princess mailed to your house, but now that I have returned to the site I can’t find it. Would you mind letting me know the address or where to get it? Thanks, Kirsten

I found this on Pinterest:
if you write a letter to a character at Disney (walt Disney world communications p.o. box 10040 lake buena vista, fl 32830-0040), they will send you an autographed photo back!

I saw the same post of pinterest, and I tried to mail letters to mickey and minnie for my niece and nephew for christmas and instead of getting an autographed photo back I got a generic postcard. I was disappointed. Does anyone know if Disneyland will send an autographed picture since WDW did not?

I wanted to have my first graders write letters to characters as a wrap up to our Fairytale Unit. Do you mind sending me the address?

I have a big question. A friend of mine is an extreme couponer and is teaching classes. I recently attended one of her classes and this is what she told me.

” If you are buying a P&G product it does not matter what coupon you present as long as it is a P&G coupon. For instance if you buy a $2 tube of toothpaste then you can present the $10 off of Crest White Strips and it will scan giving you a $8 profit.”

To me that sound likes coupon fraud. I would love to make $60 on trips like she has but I am scared to death!

Thanks!

That DEFINITELY is coupon fraud. I am sorry to say this, but shame on your friend. Coupons say what items they can be used for. A $1.00 off Crest toothpaste is to be used for $1.00 off Crest toothpaste. Any other use is fraud.

Your friend is going to ruin couponing for everyone else with her teaching methods. People who teach these fraudulent methods cause retailers to lose money, which, in the end, results in stricter coupon policies, less coupons, and even stores halting coupon use altogether.

Shortly after I posted this she tried her method at several stores only to be shot down! I knew something was not right about it. I am soooo glad I have stuck to my morals and kept it legal. I just hope some of the others she taught back off. Many dear ladies and friends were at this class.

Another reader told me you have a post about how to be on facebook just for coupons. I can’t stand FB but love coupons. She forgot how to do it and I’ve searched your site now for an hour trying to find it. Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you!

I have a dining question. I will be making a trip to visit family in Fl at the end of March. Since it will just me and my 5 yr. old son, I wanted to know if any dining inside Disney takes AAA? I don’t know a lot of money to stay on property, or I’d take advantage of my free dining PIN:( But, I would love to take my son for a day or two while we are there.
Any ideas? Does anyone know of any discounts at any Disney resturants?

I saw on Pintrest that if you write a letter to a Disney Character they sign a picture and mail it back to you. Does this really work? I would love to do this for my 6 year old daughter who LOVES Ariel, but I read on here that they only send a generic post card. So, does a child have to write it for it to work? I really wanted to surprise my daughter with this for her birthday.
I’m just really confused as to how the whole thing works.
If someone could give me a step by step on how this works I would be forever grateful!

Im no help bc still waiting for a response… I’m the one that received the generic post cards… I have not been able to get anyone to answer me about what they know about this… Kind of disappointed in Disney sending a post card and in this blog for not answering… Even an “I don’t know” would be better than no response at all in months…

I apologize… I assumed the responses woiuld be in the same spot as the question. I didn’t mean for the response to make your blog look bad or like you were not attentive…. I really like your blog just didn’t seem to have received a response to my question. thank you for taking the time to clear this up. once again I am sorry…

No problem. The question actually gets asked in a lot of places so sometimes a place or two will get missed. :(

I was wondering… I do a lot of shopping at walgreens and rite aid, and am really just starting to coupon, so if anyone could clarify this, it would be a great help… when buying products, “Spend $15 get back $5 in ups” does this mean before or after coupons… I am not understanding this part very well so any clarification would help. Thanks!!

Hey Kristen,
I love your site. I’m new to it. I was wondering if you have another site about how to save money on Disney fairy tale weddings or if I’m not looking in the correct space. Can you tell me where to go?
This site has given me so much excitement to my trip in February with my family!
I’m learning so much!

I have a quick question….I have a coupon from Walgreen’s for $4/1 Advil 160 or 200 ct. & I have a coupon from Advil for $1/1 20ct or larger. The one from Advil says, “Not Valid in Connection With Any Other Offer.” Does that mean I can’t use the two coupons together?

I was wondering where to find a list of what can be brought into the disneyland park? Are closed water bottles ok? Can I bring small snacks for my kids? I can only find clothing items on their website and snacks for kids with food allergies.

I have not been able to use my computer for a while so now I’m playing catch up. Was the “forum” page removed? I have looked but cannot find it. I loved reading about everyone’s ways of saving for Disney!! It gave me so many ideas on saving for my next trip.

Hi Kristin,
I was wondering what the Disney travel planning company you use and talk about is. I cannot remember or find it on your site.

Thank you!
Denise

I have a question about your Disney Passes. Is there a discounted way to get them? We’re going to surprise our kids with a trip to Disneyworld at the end of this year and I was hoping I could buy the passes a month at a time to make it more affordable.
Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I know about the military discount but we don’t know anyone in the military-thanks!

Hello. I saw the post that McDonald’s has $1 spring treat coupon booklets. I checked just about all the McDonald’s in my area, and they all said that they do not have them. Is there another way to get them? Is there a listing of the McDonald’s that participate somewhere? Thanks so much! You do a great job!!
