We have all seen posts about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and the Pirates League, but what happens if you just can’t get a reservation there? There are other places throughout the ‘World the can make over your princess or make your little prince feel special. The Ivy Trellis and Harmony Barbershop are two such places.
Inside the The Grand Floridian Resort, the Ivy Trellis Salon will help you any little girl become a princess with their “Perfectly
Prepared Princess Package”. This is a great option if you can’t get into the BBB or, if your little girl is like my daughter, still wants to be a princess, but a little “to big for the BBB” (her words, not mine). They offer shimmery make-up, glittery nails, and a fancy tiara with a special hair style. I actually prefer it over the BBB, the hairstylist have a little more leeway with their designs and are able to create truly unique style just for the princess.
The boys are not forgotten either. On Main Street inside Magic Kingdom is the Harmony Barbershop, an old time barbershop full of amazing barbers that will treat any of their customers like royalty. Not only do they offer haircuts, they offer two magical extras.
1.The First Haircut – You can sign your little one up for their very first haircut at the Harmony Barbershop. Not only will they get an amazing cut, you will get a certificate, a lock of hair and of course, their own set of special Ears. We had my son’s done here and I can’t imagine a better place for not only pictures, but the memories.
2. Pixie Dust – Yes, the fairies are not the only ones with Pixie Dust, the barbers have it as well. Your little fairy can have her hair cut, combed and then covered in Pixie dust (and they hair spray it in, so it stays !) One more way to make your princesses feel just a little more special.
While these do not book up as fast as some of the special events around Walt Disney World I still suggest calling for your appointment on your 180 day mark. They also take DVC and AP discounts, just tell them you are a member when you check in.
Erin Benge has been a lover of all things Disney since she honeymooned there in 2001. Since then she has traveled there multiple times, enjoying it as honeymooner, a young couple, with small children and now as a DVC owner she travels with multiple generations. She has participated in runDisney events and is training for her first half marathon.
