I used to have problems with trying to keep apple slices from browning in my kids’ lunchboxes. They are difficult to pack because they brown so quickly. Here’s a great idea to keep them from browning until you’re ready to eat them! All you need is a rubber band!
Slice completely through the apple on one side as close to the core as you can get. Then make the same cut on every side. The gather the pieces together to form an apple again. Secure with a rubber band until ready to eat!

Orange juice works, too. Less bitter for the kids palates, too!
