Water is so beautiful and calming to look at. Disney World is home to various lakes and notable bodies of water. However, have you ever overlooked one and wondered the name? Today, Learn 10 Lakes & Their Names At Disney World.
Seven Seas Lagoon – To build Magic Kingdom, an enormous amount of dirt was taken from and formed what is now known as Seven Seas Lagoon. It is found beyond the front entrance to Magic Kingdom. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa also overlooks Seven Seas Lagoon.
Bay Lake – Adjacent to Seven Seas Lagoon is Bay Lake. Here, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge sit around.
World Showcase Lagoon – This is the lake found in the midst of the World Showcase in Epcot.
Crescent Lake – Adjacent and connecting to the World Showcase Lagoon is Crescent Lake. Found just outside of Epcot, this Lake also hosts Disney Resorts surrounding it: Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Swan & Dolphin. This is also the lake looking out from Disney’s Boardwalk.
Echo Lake – Found within Hollywood Studios Park, beyond Hollywood Boulevard.
Discovery River – Found within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.
Lake Buena Vista – Found behind Disney Springs.
Sassagoula River – Is the manmade waterway connecting to Lake Buena Vista. Here guests of Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter can enjoy a complimentary water taxi to Disney Springs, going past the Treehouse Villas and Disney’s Saratoga Springs.
Hourglass Lake – This is the name of the lake found between Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts.
Lago Dorado – Is the lake found within the middle of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
Disney World offers various Fireworks cruises, on the World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot, around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake at Magic Kingdom. Disney World is home to the following marinas: Contemporary Marina, Polynesian Marina, Grand Floridian Marina, Fort Wilderness Marina, Wilderness Lodge Marina. Offering fishing tours, boat rentals and more (varies by location). Keep in mind there is no swimming allowed at any of the Disney World Resort beaches.
