Hi Kris,
I am new to your website. My family and I are planning a trip to Disney World ( we are from California). I would like to know if you have any tips as to where we can buy baby food for my infant and snacks and drinks for our 5 year old? We are staying in the Disney All Star Movie Resort. Is it easy to get out of the resort and go to a walmart or any other store near by?
Thanks for your help,
Jade

Great tips. We used to live in Florida so really know the ins and outs of Disney.
I still gather up Disney items and small toys for waiting for parades and bring them with me so we dont have to purchase anything there. I did allow my daughter to do the Mr. Potato Head and Pony grabs and it’s a great memory to have over the years. I always book my hotel through the hotel directly (Usually the All Star Movies, it’s fun and magical for the kids) I always use Disney transportation but love to have a car to stock up the room on snacks and drinks. Once I even brought a seperate suitcase full of snacks! LOL And lastly for anyone new to Disney I’d suggest the reading guide by Birnbaum. Get in the park early, leave at noon, go swim nap and eat and come back later when everyone’s tired! LOL Most of all make lots of memories, plan plan plan and start exercising..it’s a lot of walking! Great website. Keep up the good work!

I just wanted to let you know that my 2 year old loves all the Disney pics you’ve posted from the past trips. She gets so excited seeing “boy and girl” with all her friends. If we’re able to take her to Disney anytime soon she may expect to see your kids there!

We have gone to disney every year since our son was born (11years only missing one!) We have 4 kids and we travel far to get there. It is the most amazing thing for our family. I look forward to reading your site as I just found it. We save money all year to travel so I am hoping to find more tips from you!

I own a timeshare and I can’t go to Orlnado (Disney) this year, so I am renting my week out for only $550.00. It is for Dec 17-24th at the Cypress Pointe Resort Grand Villas ll. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath and a kitchen. Very nice luxury resort, indeed. This is easy to do. After I am paid, I will change the reservation to your name and you go as my guests. You can call the resort to confirm. No sales pitches, just fun. If these dates are not perfect for you, let me know and I might be able to reserve other dates. This offer will be availble until June 30th. Thanks.

We just got back from Disney World on 6/9/2010. What a great time but now it’s time to start getting ready for the next visit. I’m hoping to use many of your money saving tips so we can stay for 14 days next year, 11 days is just not enough.

Hi kristen, my famliy and I are headed to disney as we speak.only four days but we are going to make the best of it.what is the animal kingdom like?what is there?
Kris says
Hi Kristin,
I’ve really enjoyed reading about your trip and have gotten a LOT of useful ideas and information. I’m just wondering, did you use Tourguide Mike for a touring plan, some other site, or just your own years of experience?
One thing we always miss out on is the characters because the kids get so excited to get on the rides that the characters just become an afterthought until we happen to see them. I actually want some pictures this year!

Hi Kris,
I’ve been to Disney at least a hundred times (I live in Florida) and can tell you – don’t waste your time with any pay-to-plan Disney vacation sites. You can create and print your own free park maps at Disney’s official website. As for characters, at Magic Kingdom they have the Toon-Town area that houses the most popular characters in 3 different lines: Princesses, Fairies, & the Mickey Mouse gang. Try first thing in the morning or after dinner for the shortest character lines.
Have fun!
Amy

And don’t forget that you can give your camera to the person taking pictures, like in fornt of the castle or with the characters. Many people do not realize that they can do that!

Hi Kristin. I have been following your blogs now for about 6 months. First off thank you for all the awsome deals. I look forward to reading them everyday. Second, koodoos to you with your weight loss and exercise. I know what a challenge that can be. Third, I do feel like I am in Florida with you and your family, I hope that you all are safe and have a SUPER GREAT time!!! Years ago I started a Florida jar with the kids. Just like yourself, after returning home from the trip we start the new jar…for the next trip. We do go once a year, but not to the amusment park. I am hoping that by following your steps that we can save up for a 7 day trip to Disney next year (there is 6 of us!) . So what I want to really say is that you are inspiring to. Have a great trip and I can’t wait to see more pictures!!!
