There is a new restaurant in Adventureland coming by November of 2015. Jungle Navigation Co LTD. Skipper’s Cantina will be a Jungle Cruise themed restaurant and it occupy the Adventureland Veranda. The Veranda was most recently the home of Tinker Bell and her friends, but it also operate as a restaurant from 1971 – 1994.
The back story of the restaurant is said to be that the Jungle Cruise skippers are not making enough money at their current job, so they have to open the restaurant to bring in more money.
Inside guests will be able to experience “World Famous Jungle Cuisine” in one of several unique dining rooms – including a crew mess hall and a once-hidden secret meeting room of the famed Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
It looks like it will follow in Be Our Guest’s footsteps and be a Quick Service location for lunch and a Table Service location for dinner. It also rumored to share it’s kitchen with Liberty Tree Tavern and Diamond Horseshoe.
I personally was hoping for a pirate themed restaurant, but I will take whatever they give us. The dining options in The Magic Kingdom definitely needs improvement.
