Marble paintings with shaving cream and food coloring are one of my favorite crafts to do with my kids. The paintings always turn out beautiful and they make great gifts and cards. Kids love swirling the colors into the foamy shaving cream and are always amazed at their “magic” artwork. Using ingredients you probably already have on hand, your family can have fun painting with shaving cream today!
You will need:
- Shallow pan, a pie plate works well
- Food color
- Shaving cream
- Toothpicks or paint brushes
- Paper, card stock works well
- Spatula or piece of cardboard
Spread an even layer of shaving cream into your shallow pan. Add a few drops of your favorite colors into the shaving cream and use your toothpicks or the firm end of a paint brush to swirl the food coloring into the shaving cream. When you are satisfied with your marbling gently place your paper on top of the shaving cream. Press slightly to ensure all parts of your paper will have paint on it. Lift your paper straight up. Use a spatula or a piece of card board to scrape the shaving cream off of your paper. The paint will remain on your paper creating a fun and beautiful piece of artwork. Customize the colors for every holiday to create beautiful greeting cards, allow the paint to fully dry then you can go back and decorate your painting with stickers, glitter and writing!
