We had the incredible opportunity to go to Pandora for an exclusive preview for Annual Passholders. We have not seen Avatar yet and decided to wait to watch it after we saw the land. This way we can have the perspective of someone who has never seen the movie. As you read the post and look at the pictures, keep in mind that I don’t know anything about Avatar….yet.
I will say that it is incredible and worth a visit even if you haven’t seen the movie. Even the kids loved everything about it.
When you first enter you will walk over a bridge that transports you from Earth to Pandora. It is said to be 4.5 light years long. It is such a smooth journey that you don’t notice.
This flower releases spores as you massage it. Make sure you walk up to it and give it a hefty massage.
ACE (short for Alpha Centauri Expeditions) handles the expeditions to Pandora. Here is one of their themed trash cans.
There are flowers of all varieties and sizes all throughout Pandora. If you have wondered why it was added to Animal Kingdom, you will not wonder anymore when you see this land in person!
There are 2 new Wilderness Explorer badges in Pandora. They new books were available to those visiting Pandora. It will be pushed out to all of the park on May 27th, 2017.
There is a downed helicopter on the other side of the stream. It is covered in moss (I guess it’s moss?) as is much of Pandora.
There are restrooms when you enter Pandora that are not crowded. The restrooms back by the Quick-Service restaurant are crowded.
Want your face painted? You can choose from a variety of Avatar inspired designs for about $20.
This merchandise cart has a variety of souvenirs including a Pandora themed bubble wand. Who doesn’t love bubbles?
These adult flip flops light up!
Want a tail?
This is a music area where Guests can bang on drums, wiggle shells and make all kinds of noise.
More beautiful flowers. Notice the moss? It is everywhere…
Part of the incredible floating mountains.
This is nearing the queue for Flights of Passage.
Flights of Passage does have a Single Rider line! My husband and 2 older kids went on the attraction. They said it is the BEST thing they have ever ridden in Walt Disney World. And they haven’t even seen the movie yet…
Here is a preview of the video you watch before your flight:
More moss…can’t wait to figure out why there is moss everywhere.
Windtraders is the lands only souvenir shop. It is located at the exit to Flights of Passage (true Disney fashion!). Here you can find a large assortment of souvenirs.
In the near future you will be able to design your own Avatar. It looks incredible!
You can also adopt a Banshee. It is $49.99. There is a queue that you have to go through in order to adopt yours.
There are even baby versions of the characters. Disney really loves their baby stuffed animals.
Pongu Pongu Lounge serves up both alcoholic and non alocholic frozen drinks and other quick snacks.
The Quick-Service restaurant is Satu’li Canteen. It is part of the dining plan.
There is ample seating both indoors and outside.
We had Pandoran Sunrise for $4.49. It is a blend of different fruit juices and Powerade.
Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse was $5.29. It is so good! It is topped with a passion fruit type cheesecake.
Chocolate Cake was more like chocolate mouse. It was also tasty.
Incredible tile work in the bathrooms.
The floating mountains are so neat!
Beautiful plants in the queue area of Na’vi River Journey.
In addition to all the moss, there are lots of rust as well.
Disney always does neat things with the pavement. Be sure to look down as you walk.
More moss…
The Na’vi River Journey is incredible and beautiful. It is a slow boat ride that is extremely smooth. Even if you haven’t seen the movie, you will enjoy the music and variety of plant life and creatures. I rode it twice with the toddler. She was captivated by the bright colors.
Here is a ride through video I filmed:
Definitely make sure you plan a visit to Pandora when you can! It is so incredible and we can’t wait to go back!!

It looks like a lot to see, but not much to do. Tell me I’m wrong please.
