Even with Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World there will still be some lines. Worried about Walt Disney World Lines and how to Prepare Your Kids? Children can become bored quickly and turn your dream vacation into a not so happy vacation. With just a little bit of preplanning though you and your children can get through those lines and your dream vacation can stay your dream vacation.
Prepping your kids about waiting in line will go a long way. Tell them that they can expect to wait in some lines. While at the grocery store or another place with a line remind them that there will be waits like they are doing at that very moment while at Walt Disney World. Let them know that you will do your best to minimize the wait times by scheduling the more popular rides with Fastpass+. Your travel agent can help you to know which rides are the best ones to preschedule at Walt Disney World.
Before entering a long line make sure nobody has to use the bathroom. It has happened to me. Waiting in line to ride Dumbo at the Magic Kingdom we were almost there when my then 5 year old decided he needed to use the bathroom. What do you do? In my case luckily there was a bathroom right near there and I was able to get out of line with him and run to the bathroom while my husband and daughter stayed in line.
Snacks and treats do wonders. If we know that it is going to be a long wait we eat in line. Nothing makes the time go by faster than eating a good snack. Food equals happiness.
Make up fun games to play. Kids of any age can play I spy. You can have a contest to see who finds 10 people wearing mouse ears first or 10 people wearing a shirt with Mickey Mouse on it. Another game is to look for hidden Mickeys that may be nearby.
When all else fails you can use electronics. Disney has so many free apps that you can now install on your smart phone. If your kids are older they may even have their own electronics. I know my kids usually drag their iPod with them everywhere. Make sure you are fully charged and ready to go.
Lines can be long at Walt Disney World, I am not going to lie but with some preplanning you should be able to get through them without tears and tantrums. If that fails bring bubbles. Not only does it amuse your kids but it might save another family in line also when the bubbles distract their kids. You may even make some new friends from it, you never know.
Here’s how to leave after the Fireworks.
