Here is a Disney Quick Tip: book a cheaper resort for your first night at Walt Disney World. If you are going to arrive later in the day and you are planning to stay at a moderate or a deluxe resort, it might be cost effective to book your first night at a value resort.
Moving resorts with Disney is very easy. Bell Services will come to your room to pick up your luggage and they will move it to Bell Services at your next resort. If your tickets and dining plan are attached to your second reservation, you will need to go ahead and check in at that resort. Once your luggage is picked up, you can either move your car to the new resort, hail a cab (just let them know at Bell Services you need a cab and they will radio for one) or you can use Disney transportation to go a park and then transfer to transportation to the resort you are checking into.
If your tickets were attached to your first reservation, you are free to head to the parks and you can check in at your second resort later in the day.
If you just need a place to lay your head that first night, this is a great way to save money on your trip.
Another quick tip: Make sure to always carry some sort of payment with you to the parks.

Would this work if I’m splitting between a deluxe resort and Shades of Green?
