Here is a list of the things to skip in Magic Kingdom if you have little kids:
- Pirates of the Caribbean – If your little one is scared of dark rides, boats or a 14 foot drop, I would skip this one.
- Swiss Family Treehouse – 190+ steps with a little one in your arms? no thank you!
- Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room – Trying to get your little ones to sit still during this 15 minute show can be difficult. If they aren’t very patient, I would skip this one until they are older.
- Splash Mountain – 5 story drop? No thanks! Take them on Pirates first and if they like that drop then I would try them on Splash Mountain. Don’t forget there is a height limit!
- Country Bear Jamboree – Another 15 minute show that can be hard for little ones to sit through.
- Hall of Presidents – This show is 23 minutes long and it is one that kids don’t need to talk through.
- Haunted Mansion – If you think your child can handle a dark ride with a ghost theme, go for it. We had to wait for my youngest to be 6 before he was ready for it.
- Space Mountain – Roller coaster in the dark? Probably not a good idea unless your little one is a roller coaster fan. Don’t forget there is a height limit!
- Tomorrowland Speedway – Unless you want your child to knock you all over the car, skip this one. It’s rough until they are tall enough to see over the dashboard. There is also a height limit.
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – This attraction is 21 minutes long and may not hold their attention.

Laughed out loud at stich: no! Hahaha that ride just stinks! Literally! I hated it as an adult….let alone as a child.

I didn’t realize there was such a big drop in Pirates! Is it different from the Disneyland version of the ride then?

Disneyland actually has 2 drops which I love. <3

I agree with 7 and 8, but we did all the rest with our 5 year old, and several of them with our 2 year old as well. They loved all of them! Our oldest child is a “chicken” like me and he still wasn’t scared of the drops or dark rides.
My best advice if you are taking little kids is to watch videos of the rides on YouTube with them before the trip. This way, we could talk about what to expect in each one and make a list of “yes” rides and “no” rides.

I second the no for Stitch!

I’m dying to know why no on Stitch. These are all great reasons, and OH so very helpful!!

LOL! You sit in a circular room and they lower an over the head restraint so you can’t get up. Then at one point the room goes dark and Stitch jumps around the room which makes the restraint bounce on your shoulders. It is NOT a good feeling at all. Plus they release a scent that reeks. :D
