Hello Couponing to Disney readers! I’m Carrie, vacation specialist with Destinations in Florida, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, and I visit you each week here on Couponing to Disney to answer some Disney FAQs. I love hanging out on Couponing to Disney every week with you, answering questions about the Happiest Place on Earth! One of the key decisions in booking your Walt Disney World Magic Your Way Package is choosing the Walt Disney World ticket option that is best for your family. Let’s take a look at some frequently asked questions about Walt Disney World ticket options.
What are my Walt Disney World Ticket options?
Walt Disney World offers two types of ticket options. Park Hopper Tickets, Base Tickets, and then you can add the Water Parks Fun and More Option to either of these.
Is a Base Ticket right for my family?
When families are traveling with younger children, are first time visitors, or like to take breaks from the parks during the day, I highly recommend Base Tickets. These allow you to visit one park per day. You can come and go from that park as much as you like, but you can only visit that one park.
What are the benefits of Park Hoppers?
If you are able to hop between parks at least twice during your trip, park hoppers become a great value for your family. It is beneficial if you want flexible dining options {breakfast in Magic Kingdom and dinner at EPCOT} or want to take the most advantage of Extra Magic Hours. Park hoppers are also wonderful if you have older children in your family who do not rely on naps. Once you leave your resort, you can hop from park to park all day!
If I book my Magic Your Way Package with base tickets, can I upgrade to Park Hoppers?
Yes, you can do so. You can upgrade to park hoppers even upon arriving on Disney property. You must do it before the last day of your tickets is used.
What is “Water Parks Fun and More?
This is an option that you can add directly to your Disney base or park hopper tickets. It allows you entry, based on the number of days on your ticket. You can enter Blizzard Beach, Typho0n Lagoon, Disney Quest, the Disney mini golf courses, Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex, and Oak Trail golf course. The number of days you are allowed to enter these “minor” parks is based on the number of days you have on your park tickets. So if you have a 5 day base or 5 day park hopper, you have 5 entrances to those minor parks in ADDITION to enjoying the 4 main Disney parks.
