Starting October 1, 2021 Walt Disney World begins “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” to celebrate 50 yEars for their 50th anniversary. This celebration will last 18 months after it begins, giving guests plenty of time to honor 50 years of Disney World with a visit. So far, we have 12 reasons to visit with more details sure to come!
1. Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade Debuts October 1
Mickey and Minnie Mouse are getting in on the fun with new sparkly celebration outfits!
The new Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade begins on Oct. 1st. See Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their 50th Anniversary EARidescent looks as they travel through Magic Kingdom Park several times a day.

2. New Décor on Cinderella’s Castle
Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park recently received a new EARidescent embellishment ahead of the celebration. See the newest décor piece in the photos featuring a royal blue jewel, gold detail and draping that shimmers. The inspiration for the hues are inspired by Cinderella from the vision of Disney Legend, Mary Blair.
In the months ahead, new pieces of the Cinderella Castle makeover will continue. Look forward to shimmering pearls on the turrets and towers, jewels and ribbons in hues of royal blue and iridescent gold. Stay until dark to see Cinderella Castle transforms into one of the shining Beacons of Magic. As with the theme of the 50th Anniversary, Cinderella Castle will also shimmer with EARidescence.
Walt Disney Imagineering developed new colors, gold detailing and vibrant hues for this makeover, drawing inspiration from Disney Legend Mary Blair’s vision of the classic film, “Cinderella.”

3. Disney Fab 50 Sculptures Unveiled on Oct. 1
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale will be featured as new golden sculptures debuting on October 1st at Magic Kingdom. Then, look for more series of sculptures at all four theme parks. There will be a total of 50 characters as part of the Disney Fab 50! Look forward to interreacting with these sculptures for the 5oth anniversary celebration.

4. All-New Magic Kingdom Fireworks Show, Disney Enchantment, Begins October 1
An all-new nighttime spectacular will kick off on the debut of the celebration, Oct. 1st. The fireworks show named, Disney Enchantment, will take guests on a journey of adventure, wonder and inspiration to believe in Disney magic and Enchantment. Look forward to fireworks, music and lighting. Plus, projections will extend down Main Street USA for the first time!

5. Harmonious at EPCOT Debuts October 1
This all-new nighttime show will debut on October 1st at EPCOT, the same day The World’s Most Magical Celebration begins.
Harmonious at the World Showcase Lagoon will include massive floating set pieces, positioned like a compass. The floats will have a variety of show effects with custom-build LED panels, moving fountains, lights, lasers, pyrotechnics and more. Harmonious will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars to come to a Disney park, with a global effort. The show celebrates how Disney Music inspires and connects us through music and images.

6. “Disney KiteTails” At Animal Kingdom Begins October 1st
Animal Kingdom has its own news to share now, with an all-new daytime show beginning October 1st at the park. The new show named, “Disney KiteTails” will perform several times a day at the Discovery River Amphitheater. The show focuses on kites and windcatchers, some up to 30 feet long, and Disney Characters dancing through the sky to your favorite Disney Songs. This experience is sure to delight the entire family.
7. New Lighting on Spaceship Earth
Over in EPCOT, look to Spaceship Earth in the evening as new lighting will resemble stars in the night sky (this new lighting on Spaceship Earth will be a permanent feature).

8. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Opens October 1, 2021
Coinciding with Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary will be the grand opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT on October 1, 2021. The World’s Most Magical Celebration begins on the same date.
On this family-friendly attraction, guests on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will shrink down to the size of a rat and race across Gusteau’s kitchen floor. There is no height requirement for this attraction, which based on Disney-Pixar’s Ratatouille. The pavilion’s new portion is inspired by Paris as seen in the Academy Award winning animated film.

9. La Crêperie de Paris Opens October 1, 2021
Opening the same date of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France pavilion at EPCOT will be a new eatery for guests. La Crêperie de Paris will open on October 1, 2021 for guests
This restaurant will provide both a quick-service and table-service option for guests. On the menu find crepes, buckwheat galettes, authentic French hard cider and more.
The new Creperie is in all-new location near Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, both part of EPCOT’s multi year transformation.
10. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Enhancements
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort first opened to guests on October 1, 1971. Disney has confirmed Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort enhancements are to be completed by the Resort’s 50th Anniversary.
Enhancements:
- A new porte cochere to showcase mid-20th century architecture.
- Bold new wooden screens along the Monorail station in tropical colors.
- Gardens and fountains will be enhanced.
- New chandeliers at the entryway to match existing grand chandelier in the resort lobby.
11. Beacons of Magic
Each park icon will become “Beacons of Magic” in the evening during the celebration period. See pixie dust on Cinderella’s Castle, magical fireflies at the Tree of Life and special touches at Hollywood Tower of Terror.

12. Cast Members
The Most Magical Place on Earth has unveiled an all-new nametag for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. As the starring role of the parks, Cast Members have been spreading magic for nearly 50 years. The new nametag will be added to their wardrobes later in 2021 as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration. The new nametags have added “EARidescence”, gold features, and the resort’s 50th anniversary castle logo in the top center.
