What is an Easter Egg? An Easter Egg in a Disney or Pixar film is a hidden character, reference or object that connects to another Disney or Pixar movie. This hidden object, reference or character is known as an “Easter Egg”.
1. Monsters Inc.
Did you notice everyone’s favorite Cowgirl in Disney-Pixar’s Monsters Inc.?! During the scene when Sulley returns Boo to her room, Jessie from Toy Story films can be seen! Did you catch this Easter Egg?
2. Live Action, Aladdin
While watching, keep a close eye for the Easter Egg above! This sand Castle closely resembles a favorite Disney Castle of mine!
3. Frozen 2
Baymax makes an appearance as a snow person toy. Dumbo and Bolt are seen among the toys as well
4. Pinocchio
Have you ever noticed the presence of a Mickey Mouse shaped chair in Disney’s Pinocchio?! The noticeable Mickey shaped ears are there, how fun.
5. Finding Dory
Did you catch this Cars 3 Reference In Finding Dory? This is a tough one, for a keen eye. However, look closely at the driver’s bandage in the car Hank lands on. The checkered pattern and Lightning McQueen are seen when zoomed in!
6. Live-action, Beauty and the Beast
Here is an interesting reference from Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast, it occurs during the beginning of the film. Maurice is scene at work adding details to a music box. The music box is actually an inspired replica of where he and Belle’s mom used to live.
7. UP
Did you notice this Easter egg in UP? The Pizza Planet Truck is a well-known Disney-Pixar Easter Egg. It appears in Up twice! The first, pictured above, is when Carl’s house flies over the city. You can spot the truck at a traffic light. The second occurrence is finding it parked outside Fenton’s Ice Cream shop, near the end of the movie
8. Lilo & Stitch
In Lilo & Stitch fans can see a Mulan poster hanging in the bedroom of Nani’s wall.
9. Hunchback of Notre Dame
Here is a classic Disney Easter Egg, from Disney’s 1996 Hunchback Of Notre Dame. During the Out There scene, a familiar character walks by doing what she loves. Belle from Beauty and the Beast is seen walking by, with her head down, reading!
10. Lady & the Tramp
Here is a Disney Easter Egg with a Lady & the Tramp character making a cameo in 101 Dalmatians. During the Twilight Bark Scene, when the Percy’s Pet Shop window is shown, one of the dogs is Peg from Lady and the Tramp!
11. Moana
One Easter Egg that can be seen in Moana is Flounder. The scene pictured above happens in Moana when is Maui using his magic. His magic takes Moana to a 2D world, when a fast fleet of colorful fish swim across the screen. Did you spot The Little Mermaid friend caught swimming in this scene?
12. Ratatouille
In the 2007 Disney-Pixar film, Ratatouille there is a fun reference to a character from another Disney-Pixar film. Early in the movie, when Remy is running through houses, he is startled by a dog. Viewers cannot see the dog, however his shadow is clearly seen on the wall. Do you recognize this shadow? It is Dug from Disney-Pixar’s Up. What is even more fascinating is Ratatouille (2007) came out 2 years prior to Up (2009).
13. Brave
With various blocks of wood and wood carvings, it makes for the perfect place to hide an Easter Egg or 2. Did you notice the carving of Sulley amongst the blocks of wood?
14. Coco
Did you notice this Incredible Easter Egg in Disney’s Coco? In one scene, an Incredibles poster is found hanging on the wall! They have a skeletal look, however there is no denying this is a nod to the Incredibles!
15. Brave
We have another Easter Egg among the wood carvings. Did you notice the Pizza Planet truck in Disney’s Brave? It is seen in the witch’s workshop, with her carvings!
16. Tangled
Did you notice this Easter Egg in Tangled? In Rapunzel’s tower fans can find several princess books scattered about. One example is the story of Sleeping Beauty, perched open at the top of this picture.
17. Lilo & Stitch
After Lilo & her sister make up from a fight, something causes the lights to go out and Lilo runs to the window. It is here when the art easel can be seen in the background. Sitting in Lilo’s easel is a plush Dumbo!
18. Toy Story 3
Toy Story 3 was released in 2010 for fans, bringing Woody, Buzz Lightyear and many favorites back to the big screen.
Does the graphic image on the t-shirt look familiar? It is the same as worn by Sid in Toy Story. Only in Toy Story his shirt is black, as you can see it is now faded to gray. Furthermore, the garbage man is voiced by Erik von Detten, who also voiced Sid in Toy Story. This is such a fun Easter Egg connection!
19. Finding Nemo
Stick around for the end of Finding Nemo and see a special guest in the ending credits. Swimming by in the credits is none other than Mike Wazowski complete with scuba gear. You can catch him in the credits right before the “Special Thanks” section. Have you noticed this Disney Easter Egg before connecting Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo?
20. Zootopia
Zootopia has a fun Frozen connection for us if you look closely. Among the Tundra Town people is a family of Elephants walking by the Fishtown market. The children elephants are seen wearing Anna & Elsa dresses! Another interesting Frozen connection is Kristen Bell (the voice of Anna) also plays the voice of the female sloth in Zootopia.
