In addition to the festive decorations that adorn the park during the holidays, the Magic Kingdom also goes all out with the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Unfortunately, the cost of the party is not covered with your park ticket (not required either, just a party ticket). The tickets to the parties are $74-$115 for adults and $69-$110 for children.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween-Party is held on select nights in September, October and on November 1st. Guest of all ages are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes and trick or treat in the Magic Kingdom.
There is also a Boo To You Halloween Parade, Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show, and many rare Disney characters and villains come out for meet and greets.
- You will need to purchase a separate ticket to attend the party.
- If you do not have a ticket, you will be escorted out of the park or not let in at all. Make sure you do not book a dining reservation after 7 pm inside the Magic Kingdom if you do not plan on purchasing a park ticket. You will not be allowed to enter the parks at all.
- If you have a park ticket, they usually let you in starting at 4 pm.
- Parties are the only time that adults are allowed to dress up in costume.
- Parties are a great opportunity to meet rare characters. Some characters meet at the parties and don’t meet at any other time.
- You do not need a park ticket to come to the party, just a party ticket. If you do not have park hoppers, you could spend that day’s ticket at another park and still get into the Magic Kingdom in the evening with the party ticket.
- Not all attractions are open during the party, but towards the end of the party the ones that are open have very short lines.

Hi, question about the not-so-scary Halloween party. Is this party geared more towards kids? The reason I’m asking is that my Hubby and I are going to be there in September and we were curious about this party, but we don’t have kids, and from what I keep reading, it sounds more kid oriented. Would there be anything for us to do, or is this party more for families with children.
Thanks :-)

I have seen lots of couples enjoying the MNSSHP. Most rides are open (with little waits) and you can do the trick or treating and the parade is really cool too. There are a lot of families there with kids but I think that is just true with WDW in general. If you love Disney and Halloween I would say go, dress up, and have a blast! I would go with just myhubby & me if the kids would let us..lol The best costume I saw was a couple who dressed as Belle and the Prince ( cannot remember his actual name right now). They looked great!! And looked as if they were having a great time!

Thanks for replying Cindy! I’ll have to run this all by my hubby and see if he wants to go or not. It also depends what days they are holding it this year, and if it interferes with any of our dinner reservations ;-)
I also just found out that we will be there during the 1st two days of the Epcot Food & Wine festival! I am so excited about that as well!
=D

As a foodie I LOVE going during the food and wine fest. I think you should stillbe able to get many of the stuff at the booths that are under $4 as a food credit if you have a dining plan. We did that last time and was able to enjoy so much stuff!! Have a great trip, it’s a great time of year to go!

We’re going in Sept. this year to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I got our costumes after halloween last year for under $4 each. All pirates even Jack Sparrow for my son.

It is one of our favorites as well! Dressing up is not just for the kiddos either! My whole family dressed up both times we went (once as the cast from beauty and the beast and once from the cast from toy story) we had a blast posing for pictures with complete strangers who thought our costumes were great!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has to be one of my all time favorite things! I took my daughter last month on a mommy daughter trip. We actually bought tickets for 2 nights because we couldn’t get enough. My suggestion would be to get there early and line up about 30 minutes before a headliner character (jack sparrow, the 7 dwarves, or princesses). After scoping out the party the first night and just having a good time getting lots of candy we had a great plan of attack for the second night. On our second night we met The 7 Dwarves, Raffiki, Tarzan/Jane/Turk, The Queen of Hearts, Mallificent, Dr. Facllier, Lady Tremaine/Anastasia/Dresella, Gaston, Rapunzel/Flynn, Cinderella/Prince Charming, Snow White/Prince, Mickey/Minnie, Alice, Tiana/Naveen, & Jasmine/Geenie! Plus we trick or treated, road some rides, saw the parade, villain show, and fireworks, and got our pic with the hitch hiking ghosts. SOOOOOO much fun!!
