One of the benefits of the digital age we live in, is being able to capture memorable moments easily. Clean & Check Equipment
It may seam obvious, however make sure your equipment (phone) is clean before use. Particularly the lens, nothing is worse than capturing a precious moment and having it ruined by this simple mistake. More myself I know I could clean my phone lens more often! Also, knowing your settings and features for your camera is important. Take time to experiment prior to your vacation with features and settings.
Horizontal Vs. Vertical Photos
Horizontal photographs better capture landscapes and Vertical photographs better capture tall subjects. For example, taking a photo of your first view of Main St USA in Magic Kingdom I recommend a Horizontal photograph to capture the Castle and surroundings. For an up close shot of Cinderella’s Castle (at 189 feet tall), a Vertical photo can nicely fill the frame of the photo. However, do remember to take the time to turn your phone for Horizontal photographs, as they capture more of the magic.

Rule Of Thirds
A basic and important photography rule students learn is the Rule of Thirds. As a basic breakdown, it is drawing a grid (2 horizontally and 2 vertically lines), then place your subject where those lines intersect (shown in red above) in the photo frame. This creates a balanced and focused photo and is a great thing to keep in mind. Some smartphones even have the feature to turn on a grid/grid lines for taking photos (essentially having the rule of thirds on the go). However, the great thing about photography being an art is rules do not always have to be followed.
Battery Life
Ensuring your phone stays charged can be a challenge at Disney World. In addition to photos & videos, guests are also using the My Disney Experience App, staying in touch with family and friends, and even checking the time all drains your phone battery. Consider purchasing a Fuelrod Portable Charger, a one-time purchase with unlimited charged batteries. Even worse than a ruined photo, is no photo!
