There is a battle of the MagicBands and wizard wands with 2 famous theme park destinations in Florida. We are talking about Disney World versus Universal Orlando. Today, we have made a list of 5 reasons Disney World is better than Universal Orlando. Do you agree?
Size
Disney World has double the theme parks and water parks versus Universal Orlando. Universal Orlando has 2 parks: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Plus a waterpark – Volcano Bay. Disney World has 4 parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Plus 2 waterparks – Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
In acreage comparison, Universal Orlando spans over 500 acres, while Disney World Resort spans over 27,000 acres Furthermore, Disney World has land to expand even more.
Good For All Ages
Both Disney World and Universal Orlando have rides for all ages to enjoy. However, Disney World really knocks this one out of the park with the most any height attractions, for the whole family to enjoy. Universal gets the title of an adult vacation, and it is true they have more thrilling rides than Disney World. Magic Kingdom at Disney World is the mecca of classic attractions such as it’s a small World, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan’s Flight and more, with no minimum height requirement.
Transportation
Disney World contains many modes of transportation for guests. At Disney World guests can ride complimentary boats, monorail and busses to Disney parks and more. Plus Disney World is adding the new Skyliner Transportation System, to ride by Gondola. Additionally, some Disney Resorts are within walking distance to the parks.
Universal Orlando also has shuttle busses, water taxi and option to walk within some locations. However, guests can ride the famous Hogwarts Express between the parks (with eligible tickets). Even though the latter may outweigh for Harry Potter fans, Disney offers more transportation options.
Landscape
Due to the sheer size of Disney World versus Universal Orlando, Disney has more space dedicated to greenery. Disney World does not disappoint with its landscaping, which is especially magical during Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival. However, any day of the year guests at Disney will find meticulous landscaping from parks to Resorts. The lush greenery found at Disney Resorts, Animal Kingdom and more can not be matched at Universal Orlando.
Cinderella’s Castle
Cinderella’s Castle is the park icon of Magic Kingdom, and the most recognized icon of Disney World. Seeing Cinderella’s Castle for the first time is a magical experience and a feeling of home for Disney fanatics. There is so much to do at Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom, from an opening show to seeing the Castle used as a backdrop during the firework spectacular. The Kiss Goodnight also lights up Cinderella’s Castle for guests, as well as A Frozen Holiday Wish during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
