Recently, we covered our Favorite smells at Disney World. Today, we are back with the Worst smells at Disney World! Disney does their best to keep smells at bay, and make every aspect of your vacation a pleasant one. Therefore, a couple unpleasant smells on this list are intentional for attractions. However, others smells are just hard to control, read the list of the 5 of the worst smells at Disney World.
Journey Into Imagination With Figment
Journey into Imagination with Figment is found in Future World of Epcot. This delightful attraction follows Figment as he gets in the way of Dr. Nigel Channing, who is trying to prove how our senses capture imagination. When guests are tested on sense of smell, they are exposed to an unpleasant one. You may hear some groans from guests when the smell of skunk fills the air. More times than not, I have been able to walk on this attraction with little to no wait.
Affection Station
The Affection Station is found at Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom, which fully reopens Summer 2019. This is Walt Disney World Resorts only petting zoo on property. It comes as no surprise this area may not delight your sense of smell. However, the adorable animals and up close encounters are worth the animal smells! Guests will see cows, donkeys, pigs, goats and sheep. Guests can spend time feeding, petting and brushing the animals, and perhaps even a hug!
It’s Tough To Be A Bug!
Find It’s Tough to Be A Bug! inside the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. This show has many elements of surprise, keeping guests on the edge of their seats. In fact, the loud noises and darkness may frighten younger guests, al though guests of all ages are welcome to become honorary bugs. Hold your noses when Claire the Stinkbug appears, as a smell of gas fills the theater!
Tomorrowland Speedway
I have heard some guests actually like the smell of gasoline, while others find it overpowering on this attraction. At Tomorrowland Speedway in Magic Kingdom, the stench of gasoline fills the air. Guests will board their own Racecar with a working gas pedal and follow a track. For guests who experience headaches from gasoline smells, they will want to avoid this ride in Tomorrowland. However, if you can get past the smell, little ones are thrilled they are able to drive (if they are at least 32″ and accompanied by someone over 54″). Tomorrowland Speedway is currently closed for Tron Construction and expected to re-open Mid-May 2019.
The Monorail
The Monorail at Disney World is another mode of transportation for guests, connecting select Deluxe Disney Resorts, Transportation & Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom. Have you been inside the Monorail lately? Did you notice a smell? The smell isn’t always pleasant from recent guest experiences. However, with transporting an average of 150,000 guests daily in an enclosed area, some lingering smells are expected.
