Disney World has 2 incredibly themed Water Parks, named Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Visit Blizzard Beach to find a former Ski resort, now melted with hints of snow left behind. 1. Visit Kid-Friendly Areas
Both water parks have unique spaces just for children. At Blizzard Beach, Tike’s Peak is exclusively for guests 48″ and shorter. Offering a mini inner-tube ride and waterslides. Ski Patrol Training Camp is another area little ones can enjoy at Blizzard Beach with a Thin Ice Training Camp, Fahrenheit Drops (a zip line for guests under 5′) and more. At Typhoon Lagoon guests 48″ and under can visit Ketchakiddee Creek for a mini inter-tube ride, a cave with a waterfall, animal shaped fountains and slides.
2. Wear a Life Vest
Water and children mean safety precautions. Therefore both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon offer complimentary life vests for little ones to borrow. Around both water parks are many racks with the life vests, simply grab and go.
3. Meet & Greet With A Character
Each water park offers meet & greets with a character or two. Little ones will love interacting with Lilo & Stitch at Typhoon Lagoon. At Blizzard Beach, guests will find Goofy hanging out, ready for a picture and autograph. The characters will be in their beach attire.
4. Lazy River
There are many other attractions little ones can enjoy, that require no height limit such as the Lazy River. Guests of all ages will enjoy lounging on the lazy river. Cross Country Creek features a 3,000-foot-long relaxing float on a lazy river. Float around Disney’s Blizzard Beach, with 7 entry points around the park. Castaway Creek features a 2,000-foot-long float down a lazy river. Float around Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, with 5 entry points around the park.
5. Refuel with a Treat
Children will love the Mini Powdered sugar donuts with dipping sauce found at Mini Donuts at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Frostbite Freddy’s Frozen Freshments, also at Blizzard Beach, guests will find the famlus Dole Whip snack. Happy Landings Ice Cream at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park carries the Sand Pail (filled with ice-cream & topping, plus served with a shovel). These are just a few examples of great refreshments. 6. If you Forgot Something
Like all parks at Disney World, both water parks contain gift shops. At Blizzard Beach find: Beach Haus and Shade Shack. At Typhoon Lagoon Find Singapore Sal’s. Beach Haus and Singapore Sal’s are your go-to for purchasing forgotten items such as sun screen, hats, sunglasses and more. For medical needs, guests will find First Aid services in both water parks.
