Disney World is so much more than just an amusement park. There are concerts, live Broadway quality shows and more. Today learn 8 reasons why Disney World is much more than just rides.
1. Concerts
Live entertainment, included with your park admission to Epcot is a nice benefit. During Epcot Festivals, guests can enjoy live entertainment at the America Gardens Theatre, such as the Garden Rocks Concert series during the Flower & Garden festival. Additionally, various Pavilions in Epcot’s World Showcase also offer live entertainment, select times, year-round. See popular bands and more. Plus, Voices of Liberty in the American Pavilion at Epcot also offers daily a Capella concerts throughout the day.
2. Safari
Animal Kingdom is so much more than just a “zoo”, it offers interactive animal experiences. Such as the show, Up! The Great Bird Adventure Show. Furthermore, guests can ride an African savannah experience Safari, on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Learn 13 Secrets Of Kilimanjaro Safaris At Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
3. Musicals
Included with your admission to parks are attractions and shows. This includes live stage shows and musicals. Some as long as 40 minutes, these are great for taking a break and relaxing to watch the show.
Must See Stage Show/Musicals:
- Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage (Hollywood Studios)
- Festival of the Lion King (Animal Kingdom)
- Finding Nemo – The Musical (Animal Kingdom)
- For the First time in Forever: A Frozen Sing Along Celebration (Hollywood Studios)
4. Flag Retreat
Watch the American Flag retire for the evening every night at 5pm on Main St USA during the Flag Retreat. This is in coordinance with the U.S. Flag Code, which states U.S. Flags can only be displayed outdoors during sunrise to sunset. In fact, this is the only real American Flag in the park. The other ones contain an incorrect amount of stars or stripes, preventing the need to bring them in each evening. Watch this beautiful display of patriostism daily.
5. Pianist & Orchestra
Guests are in for a treat throughout the early afternoon and evening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa’s Lobby. In the Lobby, a pianist plays on a Grand Piano at various times starting in the afternoon daily. At different intervals starting early afternoon, guests can also see the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra, in the lobby. These are available on most afternoon through early evenings.
6. Aquarium
Guests can visit the Caribbean Coral Reef Aquarium in Future World, at the Seas Pavilion. It is home to over 4,000 sea creatures, totaling over 60 species, including angelfish, dolphins, rays, sea turtles, sharks and more. Tank size is an impressive 5.7 million gallons. Start at the SeaBase and then head up to the 2nd floor Observation Deck for more views.
7. Be In The Show
Lights, camera, action – be in the show! There are various experiences at Disney World guests can become a part of. These experiences will result in great memories, especially if someone from your group is chosen.
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom
- Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom
- Enchanted Tales with Belle at Magic Kingdom
- The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! at Hollywood Studios
8. Fireworks
Once you see fireworks at Disney World, your small town fireworks may be ruined for you forever, since the ones at Disney are so incredible. Disney fireworks also include projections, lasers and incredible storytelling. Catch the nightly fireworks spectacular (weather permitting), Happily Ever After, at Magic Kingdom.
