Are you considering traveling solo to Walt Disney World? It is something that is on many of us put on our bucket list. Being able to go to Walt Disney World and take your time, go at your own pace and do exactly what you want to do sounds like a dream come true! If you are lucky enough to embark on this adventure, here are tips to help you make the most of your visit.
1. Stay on Disney Property – By staying at a Disney Resort, you will be able to utilize their transportation. This will save you time and hassle. It will also keep you out the the heavy traffic (I4 is a parking lot most of the day).
2. Plan your meals around 1:30 – 3:00 PM – By eating lunch a little later than most people, you’ll have better luck at finding a table. It will also get you out of the Florida heat during the hottest part of the day. You can also dine at restaurants that offer bar top dining and skip the reservation all together.
3. Take in the ambiance – Since you can go at your own pace, be sure to slow down and take in some of the ambiance. Other Guests at Walt Disney World are fascinating to watch. See if you can guess their backstory. You can also take the time to really look and study at all the details the Imagineers included.
4. Meet Characters – Don’t sit out the character meets! There is nothing wrong or strange with grown adults waiting to meet characters. Thousands of people have done it before you. Go ahead and go for it! See if you can come up with a creative question to ask them.
5. Ride your favorites over and over – If you have a favorite attraction, ride it until your heart is content (or you get tired of the wait time). You are in control of your itinerary.
6. Don’t forget the Single Rider Lines – You can utilize the Single Rider Lines on Rock ‘N Roller Coaster, Test Track and Expedition Everest. By using these lines, you’ll be able to skip booking Fastpass+ for them. That will free you up for other choices.
7. Book Fastpass+ as early in your day as you can – If you get to the parks at 9:00 AM, start booking your Fastpasses for 9:30 AM. Use them up as quickly as you can. You’ll be able to book more Fastpasses as soon as the first 3 are used. It is a lot easier to get Fastpasses for a single rider than it is a group.
8. Take advantage of Memory Maker – The photographers will take pictures of you with characters, park icons and at other photo spots throughout the park. This is a great way to capture your trip and be in your pictures.
9. Enjoy the shows – Since you go at your own pace, you can take the time to enjoy the shows. Take in everything in the World Showcase. Enjoy the Broadway style shows at Animal Kingdom. Your time is yours.
10. Utilize social media – Involve your friends and family at home with your vacation. I’m sure you have many friends that wish they were with you and you could take them on a virtual vacation with you instead. I know that I would enjoy watching someone that I love have a great time at Disney.
