AMC is making some changes to their reopening strategy, after several of the summer’s blockbusters, like Mulan, have delayed their opening dates. The theatre chain had planned to begin it’s phased reopening on July 15th and be fully operational by July 24th. Now AMC will begin their phased opening on July 30th and opens to be “up and running” fully by “early August”.
This means they should be fully operational in time for Tenet to premiere on August 12th and Mulan to hit theaters on August 21st.
Adam Aron, CEO & President, AMC Theatres told Deadline, “We continue to devote extraordinary resources into our plan to operate our theatres with a hyper commitment to the safety and health of our guests and associates, notably in the United States through our new AMC Safe & Clean initiative. Our theatre general managers across the U.S. started working full time again today and are back in their theatres gearing up to get their buildings fully ready just a few weeks from now for moviegoers. That happy day, when we can welcome guests back into most of our U.S. theatres, will be Thursday, July 30.”
