With Fastpass+, you are limited to 3 Fastpass+ Selections per day in advance. These Selections must all occur in the same park. Here are my best tips on how to get the most out of the system…
Use Fastpass+ During Peak Times Of The Day
Fastpass+ can be used to avoid the most crowdest part of the day. I recommend booking your Fastpass+ Selections at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30. However, now that you can book more Fastpass+ after you use up the first 3 pre-booked ones, you might want to follow the advice listed in this post.
I also recommend that you plan on either arriving at the park about 30 minutes before it opens or plan on staying until the park closes. Both the hour at opening and the hour at closing are great times to experience attractions without long wait times.
By utilizing the hour at opening/closing and the Fastpass+ Selections during peak time, you will be able to experience multiple popular attractions during your trip.
Use Fastpass+ For Popular Attractions
Disney has added more attractions to the Fastpass+ program than what participated in the previous Legacy Fastpass program. But just because an attraction has the option to use Fastpass+, it doesn’t mean it is the best use of your Selection. Here are the attractions that I recommend making your top priority for Fastpass+ Selections for each park:
Magic Kingdom
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Enchanted Tales with Belle
- Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Under the Sea
Animal Kingdom
- Expedition Everest
- Kilimanjaro Safaris (book this one at 10 am or just before the park closes to get the most animal interactions)
- Dinosaur
- Kali River Rapids (for the hottest part of the day)
- Avatar Flight of Passage or Na’vi River Journey
Epcot
Epcot only allows you to choose from one popular attraction for a Fastpass+ Selection. I recommend you Fastpass Frozen Ever After and head to Soarin’ or Test Track when the park opens. If your party is 7 years of age or older, you can use the single rider line on Test Track and head to Soarin’ at Rope Drop.
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios only allows you to choose from one popular attraction for a Fastpass+ Selection as well. I recommend you pick Toy Story Mania or Slinky Dog Dash over Alien Swirling Saucers.
From tier 2, I would go with Tower of Terror or Star Tours before choosing one of the shows.
Be Willing To Change Fastpass+ Selections
If you are in the park in the morning when the lines are shorter, you may find little to no wait for the attraction that you have Fastpass+ Selections for later in the day. If you don’t want to ride it again, change it to a completely different attraction.
If the regular queue is 20 minutes or less at any part of the day for the attraction you have a Fastpass+ Selections for, you might want to change it to a completely different attraction.
It is very easy to change your Selection using your smart phone or you can visit a Fastpass+ kiosk to make the changes necessary.

We were at Epcot yesterday and used a Fast Pass for Mission Space. They asked us to get out of the Fast Pass line and go to the regular queue because it was shorter. We should have gone online and changed it.
