2 weeks ago tomorrow we closed on our new house. The past 2 weeks have been slammed full of us moving, unpacking and trying to get situated before Thanksgiving. My hubby works retail, so getting time off wasn’t really possible for him during this time of the year. But we worked hard and we got it done!
I thought I would share some pictures of my absolute favorite part of the house, our dream pantry and mouse closet (story to follow). The mouse closet contains all the non food stockpile plus the linens, games, etc.
Now for the story…
When we closed on the house, we were told there was a mouse in the garage. Well somehow that booger managed to scurry into the house and into the closet which is right by the garage. When I opened the door one morning to get something from the stockpile and I saw that mouse run across the closet, I screamed bloody murder and ran to my husband crying like a baby. I might not have a problem decorating my house in all things Mickey Mouse, but I have a major problem with a living mouse in the house!
Hubby had to work that day, so closed the door and I prayed that the mouse would not escape the closet. That night, our neighbor who grew up in the country came over to help us take care of the mouse. My husband built a barricade of boxes to keep the mouse confined to the hallway/garage area. Well guess what! The mouse ran under the stinking boxes, all around the den and into the fireplace which unfortunately is all electric!
He got under the electric logs and into the wall. My friend was telling me how the mouse is going to die in my walls and I was telling her how I have a huge stockpile of air fresheners that I got for free that could take care of the odor. Luckily we were able to evict the mouse from the house after all of that!
I think I need a cat! So after evicting the mouse, hubby pointed out that my new Thirty One purse that says Love The Mouse was hanging on the closet door. So now we call it the Mouse Closet.
Now for Black Friday, I decided during the chaos of moving that my time and energy are better spent bringing you all the great deals that aren’t listed in the Black Friday sales papers. Between moving, the holidays, hubby’s work schedule, the kids, my mother-in-law’s doctor appointments and everything I have going on in my life, I just didn’t have the time to get it all together. I apologize if you were depending on me to do them and I let you down. I am doing the best I can to balance everything in my life and still be able to bring you all the great deals that are going to give you the best savings. I love helping you all save money and to me, that is the best Christmas gift I could give myself – the joy I know the deals I share bring to your home. So hopefully you are still able to save a great deal of money off my deals! I am looking forward to sharing all the online Black Friday deals and then Monday is Cyber Monday! The online version of Black Friday. How exciting!
I have never shopped on Black Friday (hubby always has to work it), but be sure to share with us all your great deals!
