George says
Splash Mountain has been a key, indispensable part of the Magic Kingdom with it’s wonderful uplifting song “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah,” being one of the top two or three songs that defined the Magic Kingdom as “the Happiest Place on Earth.” “Song of the South” was NOT a racist movie and to say so is pure ignorance. It NEVER condoned slavery, EVER! It merely set the story in its historical setting while presenting Uncle Remus as one of the finest characters, if not THE finest character, in Disney’s history. Indeed, it presents Uncle Remus as a wonderful man of extremely high character who made the very best of his difficult circumstances and taught other to do so also. It was PRICELESS! To remove it is to remove one of Disney’s crown jewels and it is shameful.
Removing Splash Mountain is nothing more than Disney bowing to a small but vocal MOB of the radical left. And if they keep doing it, they will have to REMOVE the PARTNER’S STATUE from the center of the hub – AND EVEN REMOVE THE DISNEY NAME FROM WALT DISNEY WORLD – because Walt Disney presented the movie Splash Mountain, even though a black animator who worked for Walt Disney and knew him said that he was in NO WAY racist. What’s happening with all of these removals is both ignorant and ludicrous. And if it’s not that, it’s far far worse. Could Disney have been taken over by the radical left, which is and now gradually using the Disney Company to move our children to the radical left! I shudder at the thought!
Meanwhile, Disney is ignoring the quiet majority, because the majority is respectful and nonviolent, and therefore, underestimated to be like sheep. We are NOT sheep! I for one will be boycotting the Disney that I loved as a child for the sake of truth and righteousness!
