This happy family just saw a free movie!
Have you been loving the free movie deals we’ve had on the blog recently?
Well get ready for another one because this is officially the summer of free movies!
Goodrich Quality Theaters hosts a program each summer called the GQT Mornings. Every moviegoer is welcome to take advantage of this amazing time, no matter the age. Movies will be shown Monday through Friday from now to August 2 at 10:00AM. Those belonging to GQT Rewards will be able to see any movie in the series free-of-charge when they present their GQT Rewards card at the box office.
What are the benefits of GQT Rewards? Members receive discounts, while earning and redeeming points at the concession stand. It is completely FREE to sign-up for GQT Rewards without any hidden fees or annual fees, plus you earn 100 points for every dollar you spend! Enjoy 15% OFF concessions, while receiving a FREE Medium Popcorn on your birthday and on your Membership Anniversary. Further, members are alerted to exclusive email offers and more before any other moviegoer!
Y’all, I can personally attest to the benefits of this program because you know I see a lot of movies. And since I joined the GQT Rewards, I rarely pay for popcorn. Points, baby!
Important to note, you can get tickets for your whole family with just one person’s GQT Rewards card. My family of four (five, if you count the Teacup, which we do not because she slept the entire time) saw The Lego Movie 2 for the price of one bucket of popcorn. We calculated that we spent $6.30 on popcorn, which means it cost $1.57 for each person who stayed awake during the movie.
We’ve had a super rainy summer, so seeing a nice morning movie is a great way to get out of the house but stay out of the wet. Here are the offerings for your air conditioned viewing pleasure at GQT Mornings for July.
Goosebumps 2: The Haunted Halloween (July 8th-July 12th)
While collecting junk one day, best friends Sonny and Sam meet Slappy, a mischievous talking dummy from an unpublished “Goosebumps” book by R.L. Stine. Hoping to start his own family, Slappy kidnaps Sonny’s mother and brings all of his ghoulish friends back to life — just in time for Halloween. As the sleepy town becomes overrun with monsters, witches and other mysterious creatures, Sonny joins forces with his sister, Sam, and a kindly neighbor to save Sonny’s mom and foil Slappy’s plan.
Smurfs: The Lost Village (July 15th-July 19th)

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her best friends Brainy, Clumsy, and Hefty on an exciting and thrilling race, through the Forbidden Forest, filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Embarking on a roller-coaster journey full of action and danger, the Smurfs are on a course that leads to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history!
The Emoji Movie (July 22nd-July 26th)

This movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression, except for Gene, an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak. Together, they embark on an epic “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever.
A Dog’s Way Home (July 29th-August 2nd)
As a puppy, Bella finds her way into the arms of Lucas, a young man who gives her a good home. When Bella becomes separated from Lucas, she soon finds herself on an epic 400-mile journey to reunite with her beloved owner. Along the way, the lost but spirited dog meets a series of new friends and manages to bring a little bit of comfort and joy to their lives.
