Select Disney Resorts are now re-opened for guests, meaning select dining at these locations is also available. Today we have a photo report and review of what returning to Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was like. Learn about the modified experience below.
First thing to know, the buffet is closed at this time. Instead meals are served “family style”. Similar to Ohanas’, guests will be served their food, all you care to eat, by Cast Members.
New health and safety measures are in place and some tables are blocked off to ensure social distancing.
One notable feature was how very clean the restaurant was.
During the phased reopening, only breakfast is being served at this time. Also, reservations are required.
To check into your reservation, head to the My Disney Experience and utilize the new Mobile Dine Check-In program. Also from here guests can make a seating request and relay any dietary restrictions. Once you are successfully checked in, guests will get a text saying so and then once their table is ready.
An interesting tidbit from waitstaff is that they usually serve around 700 guests daily, and now it is closer to 200-300 guests being served daily.
Overall, the Cast Members and meal was magical, even without Disney Characters there.
Spotted at the former kids buffet area is Disney souvenirs, including some of the Disney ABC Mugs. The self-serve ice cream station is also closed.
Pricing: Cost for the time being is $25 Adults (guests age 10+) and $14 Kids (ages 3-9).
