Have some empty bottles laying around? Well instead of getting rid of them, dress them up a bit. You can use a variety of bottles for this project.
For this project, all you need is an empty wine bottle and a little imagination. I started by removing the labels (which was the hardest part) and spray painting the bottles. For the Santa bottle, I then cut strips of white sticky-backed felt to the top and bottom and black felt for the belt. Using “rhinestone” stickers from the craft department, I made a square for his belt buckle, and used white circle stickers for “buttons.”
For the snowman, I cut a strip of red (non- sticky-back) felt and hot glued it around the neck of the bottle for the scarf. I used the same “rhinestone gold stickers (which came as a big 4 inch by 3 inch square which I cut into the shape I needed them) for the snowman’s buttons. I found a small black felt hat at the hobby store which I also super glued onto the top of the wine bottle, and….voila, instant Christmas gift!
