Hello Couponing to Disney readers! I’m Carrie, vacation specialist with Destinations in Florida {the preferred travel agency of Couponing to Disney}, and I visit here each week to share some FAQs about Disney travel! Since many of you are planning your 2014 vacations to the Disney Parks, on a Disney Cruise Line adventure, or maybe even an Adventures by Disney excursion, I hope you will find these FAQs helpful in your planning and visiting the wonderful locations that the Walt Disney Travel Company has to offer. This week, we are going to talk Disney Cruise Line again!
FAQ #1 What is the dress code for a Disney Cruise?
Answer: Disney Cruise Line is resort casual as far as the dress code. Shorts, tank tops, dresses, and even jeans are acceptable on the Disney Cruise Line. If you choose to dine at Palo or Remy, they do have a dress code of their own. Be sure to bring comfortable shoes, and plenty of swimwear!
FAQ #2 How early can I board the ship?
Disney Cruise Line allows boarding to begin at 1:00 PM, and you must be on board by 4PM. If you are traveling during the winter months, it might be a good idea to book your flights into Orlando or Miami for the day before your cruise departure to allow for any delays.
FAQ #3 How do I get from Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral?
Disney Cruise Line provides round trip transfers for $70 per person. These will take you from Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral and back. If you book a Land/Sea package, you can also schedule a $70 per person roundtrip transfer. This is from your Disney Resort to Port Canaveral and from Port Canaveral to the airport.
FAQ #4 Should I buy insurance?
Yes. In the situation of a Disney Cruise, yes. The Disney Cruise Line cancellation is much stricter than that of the Disney Parks. If you need to cancel or change your dates within 74 days of your cruise, you will pay a hefty fee. If you get within 15 days of your cruise and you need to cancel, you will lose all the money you have invested in your cruise. Remember, you are traveling out of the country, even you are just going to the Bahamas. It’s a good idea to take as many precautions as possible.
FAQ #5 What is included in the cost of my Disney Cruise?
Disney Cruises are practically all inclusive! Your Disney Cruise Line package includes all the food and non alcoholic beverages. The kids clubs, for children 3+ and potty trained, the Broadway caliber shows, movies, and deck parties are all included as well! Fitness classes, comedy shows, live shows, karaoke….the list goes on and on! There is so much included in your Disney Cruise, you’ll see how fun and valuable it is for your whole family!
Are you thinking of embarking on a Disney Cruise adventure this year? Itineraries are available for all of 2014, and through April of 2015 aboard ALL the Disney Cruise Line ships!
