Truth be told I don’t always follow thru with my commitments, like with the CouponingtoChristmas challenge. Back in August we launched it. I did well for like 2 weeks with SB then fell off the bandwagon. I never stopped earning SB or saving for Christmas. But I can do much better. I am doing the bare minimum daily. I am ready to hop back on the bandwagon and give it my all. This time I am going to be accountable to all of you! I do really well when I have accountability.
Here’s how I am going to be accountable to you all.
1). Every morning, I am going to do a reminder post about earning with Swagbucks and link to the ways to earn post where we all share ways to earn SB that day.
2). Every afternoon I am going to do a blog post telling you how I earned my goal that day and how much time I spent.
Below is more details on the actual challenge!
Christmas is right around the corner! In fact we only have 80 short days until Christmas is here. That means its time for our annual Swagbucks challenge! We are hoping you earn more then the minimum amount needed daily. But even if you only earn the minimum amount needed at the end of December you will have earned $155.54 to use towards Christmas. While that might not cover your Christmas it will be a nice addition.
This challenge isn’t only about Swagbucks its about all the ways you coupon to Christmas! Every day I will post this picture in the SavEars. In the comments of the post we want everyone to post if they met the goal for the day. How they saved or earned money to use towards Christmas. No amount is to small or idea is silly. The goal here is to come together as the tribe we are to inspire and motivate each other to come up with creative ways to help pay for Christmas.
Since we have everything from novices to expert SavEar’s we want to tailor this challenge to work for everyone. Below you will find your goal based off what level of SavEar you are! This goal is only for Swagbucks. We still want you to share other ways you creatively paying for Christmas. Since everyone is different and different things work well for different people. Its harder to make savings goals that apply to the masses.
*Beginner (What is Swagbuck’s?) – Earn 20 Swagbucks daily this week
*Middle (Swagbucks is okay but hard to earn.) – Earn goal above daily.
*Expert (Swagbucks is my BFF!) – Whatever your normal daily goal is add the goals above to it.
Example – My daily goal is 225 SB. Today my goal will be my normal 225 + 101 = 326 SB is my goal for today!
Even if you already have money saved for Christmas this a great way to add a little boost to that fund. I normally cash out my first discounted gift card of the month for Amazon and save that for Christmas. That gives me a jump start with $300.00 towards Christmas. If I end up shopping elsewhere its easy to use my Amazon Christmas fund towards regular things I am buying off Amazon and switching out the money from that category.
It is a proven fact that if you have a goal with small achievable action steps written down somewhere you are more likely to achieve that goal. Let’s make that happen! Right now go to your Christmas planning sheet in the Couponing to Disney budget binder don’t have the budget binder you can buy your very own copy here. OR you can just write down your projected budget on a sheet of paper. Kristin’s budget binder goes very in depth, she has all the things you spend money on at Christmas included. I strongly recommend you use those worksheets. Nothing is worse then having an unexpected expense at an already stressful time of year. The small achievable action step is earning your daily goal posted above with SB.
Now that you have your budget filled out. Lets make a goal of one thing you are going to cover with your Couponing to Christmas money. It might be food, travel expenses, or even presents. That is all going to depend on you and what you are comfortable committing to. The important part is that you don’t set your self up for failure. Whatever you choose you want to make sure you can achieve it. My goal shouldn’t be your goal. Each person is unique and should have unique goals.
My goal is to cover all the presents. Each kid gets $100.00 budget, my husband and myself get $50.00, in laws, and my grandma get $25.00 each. That means I need to earn $575.00! I already have $175 in Amazon gift cards. By the end of December I will have $300.00. That leaves me only needing to earn and additional $275.00 towards Christmas presents.
