One of the first ways that you can get started is to cut out unnecessary spending to help you save for Disney. When is the last time you printed out all of your bank and credit card statements and reviewed them? Well today is the day!
Gather up statements from every account you spend money from (credit, bank statement, rewards cards, etc). If you mainly spend cash, you can try to find receipts, rewards trackers or just sit and try to pull them out of your brain.
Take a piece of paper (or use the Paying Bills printout from the Saving for Disney Course) and list out any and all expenses you come across. List out the trips to Starbucks or Chick-fil-A. List out the subscription services, the monthly maintenance fees, etc.
Where are you spending money that is unnecessary? The last time I did this, I realized we were paying for insurance on my husband’s cell phone through both Square Trade and AT&T.
Do you need Netflix and Disney+? Do you need that monthly membership fee to your favorite movie theater? Do you need to make a reoccurring donation to that organization?
Once you face your numbers and where the money is going, you can begin to make changes to help you save for Disney.
Be sure to take the time to catch up on theĀ Saving for Disney Challenge.
