Day 39 of Everyday at Disney took us to the Magic Kingdom in the morning. The crowds were so light heading to the parks. The Monorail was down once again so we took a bus that was barely full. People just don’t pay attention to the buses when they are running.
We got to the entrance at 8:25 and went right through security and on to Main Street. Our main mission was to see the Welcome Show up close. I did look over at the Fantasyland Bridge which is the access to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and it was packed! Everyone was heading there and luckily we were not.
After the awesome Welcome Show, we went to Big Thunder which had less than a 5 minute wait. It is such a great choice for first thing in the morning. You can ride it 2-3 times without waiting. Molly Kate played on the playground under Splash Mountain while her siblings rode.
Emily then went on Splash Mountain and didn’t get wet at all. They had the splash turned down for the early morning which is helpful! We all then headed over to Pirates which was totally walk on even though it had a 10 minute posted wait.
Emily is obsessed with Beauty and the Beast lately so she was thrilled that I had a Fastpass+ for Enchanted Tales with Belle. It had a posted 35 minute wait when we arrived but there was only about 15 people in line. Disney was absolutely stacking the wait times.
Emily was chosen to be Madame de la Grande Bouche and Jacob was chosen to be Sultan. Molly Kate didn’t want a part (obviously, lol) but they do give parts to every child who wants one. If you aren’t chosen by the Cast Member, you get to be a dish or a piece of cutlery.
Next we went to meet Ariel since her line was short. It had a posted wait time of 25 minutes but we waited 12. Then we rode Under the Sea with a 7 minute wait. Nice low crowds!
We used our Fastpass+ to ride Dumbo and then we rode Peter Pan’s Flight with our FAstpass+ before calling it a day. I walked 9k steps between 8:00 and 12:30!
Tidbits
- Disney inflates the wait times – The posted wait time for Seven Dwarfs was 90 minutes but the line didn’t start until you got to the covered part of the queue. I’ve seen it stretched all the way through the paths and out into Fantasyland and have a posted 90 minute wait. I didn’t believe that one at all! So don’t always believe what you see. Sometimes they fib about the lines to push you into other attractions whose lines aren’t so long.
- Get a freebie from Belle – Instead of signing, Belle gives out personalized bookmarks at Enchanted Tales with Belle. Preserve them until you get home and run them through a laminator for an awesome souvenir.
- Rides stop – Keep in mind that continuously loading attractions like Under the Sea or Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover sometimes stop to load a person with a wheelchair on the ride. Just because it stops doesn’t mean it is down.
We are going to Disney everyday in 2017! Follow along with our Everyday at Disney adventures!
They were totally stacking the wait times at the end of the Halloweeen Party too I figured it was to try to get people to leave. We walked on (or right up to the loading area of the queue) on every ride we passed leaving the park just before midnight. Including 7 dwarves.
Also Epcot was stacking wait times at closing. Soarin’ said 20 min but we walked right on. Granted some of the queues are so long you FEEL like you’ve been walking for 20 min before you make it to the front. :D
I think it’s great you are going everyday but how do you do it with your kids in school? At the end of the year will you let us know how much it cost?
I would love to know about doing this while they’re in school, too.
Homeschooled :). Disney in the morning and school in the afternoon or vice versa.
Sure! It doesn’t really cost that much. The annual pass includes parking. We pack snacks and very rarely get a treat at Disney. Gas is covered by my business. Finally got the accountant to agree that it is a valid business expense. :)
I thought the morning show was over? We are going in March. Thanks!
They have a new welcome show now that takes place in front of the castle at 8:55 AM.
Are you paying for parking everyday?
Parking is included for Annual Passholders.
Yes, it’s included. :)
Just a question, in the post you said the monorail was down so you took a bus. Was that from a resort or the ticket and transportation center? Can you take a bus from the ttc instead of the monorail or ferry to mk?
Thanks!
It was from the ticket and transportation center to the Magic Kingdom. They only run the buses when either the ferry or the monorail is down
