Finally it was time for us to head to Hollywood Studios. We were so tired from our day before that we decided to sleep in and have a lazy morning….we arrived at the park at 9:20! HAHAHA. We have issues.
I sent Jason ahead to get Faspasses for Toy Story Mania and the kids and I waited to hug Pluto and Goofy. Then we made it just in time for the Playhouse Disney show at 9:40. Jacob’s enter face lit up when he saw Mickey pop up on stage. He was all smiles. It was so cute!
After the show, we went to wait on High School Musical 3’s street performance while Jason and Jacob went to grab a snack. Emily really liked it even though she hasn’t seen the movies.
Jason dragged her off to see the American Idol show and Jacob and I waited in line to hug Daisy, Donald and Minnie Mouse. He sure does love his hugs! Jason and Emily really enjoyed the Americal Idol experience.
Jason and Emily then went to see The Little Mermaid show and I was actually able to get us a second set of Fastpasses to Toy Story Mania. We couldn’t believe our luck! It was a very slow, quiet day at the parks. Jacob hugged a couple green army men, and then we played a trash game. I would give him a piece of paper torn off the map and he would throw it away at the next trash can. Walt Disney wanted the cans every 27 steps (I think) and so it isn’t far between trash cans. It’s so nice! Jacob had a blast.
We then browsed through the shops and Jacob picked the cutest pair of Mickey ears. This is his first pair! We waited until he was ready to pick him out some. Of course he wanted the popcorn ears and we luckily were able to talk him out of those. LOL!
By now it was time for our reservation at 50s Prime Time Cafe. The food was good and the atmosphere was cute, but it wasn’t worth the $80 it cost us out of pocket (since we are on the quick service plan). So yes, I would do it again but only if I was already on the dining plan.
After lunch, we waited to see the Block Party Bash. It was so awesome!! Just make sure you ask a local cast member what float you will be in front of when you line up. We were in front of Monster’s Inc. The kids loved it! We also stopped by and rode Toy Story Mania once. It was almost just like the game for the Wii! Make sure you get the Wii Game ahead of time so you can practice. Jason beat me.
We then made our way back to see the Lights! Motors! Action! show. Jacob is not patient sitting for shows and unfortunately this one was no different. He drove me absolutely crazy the entire show! We try not to get him to sit through shows unless we have to. Jason had been looking forward to this show and wanted Jacob to see it. Ugh. The show was cute, but it isn’t something we will make sure to see again.
We split up and Emily and I went to see the Beauty and the Beast show. We loved it! It was a blast. Jason and Jacob got front row seats to the Playhouse Disney show and Jacob was all smiles the entire time!
We had a quick ride on Toy Story Mania with our final Fastpasses and stopped by to meet Mr Incredible before calling it a day.

Day 1 evening and Day 2 morning recap
Lucky to get 2 fastpasses to TSMM!
Oh, so you didn’t get to see the Little Mermaid yourself! Bummer! I am looking forward to it!
Another great day for your family, thanks for sharing.
I’ve always wanted a set of ears. LOL…..I’m 45…too old?
Lisa
Looks like you guys are having a blast!
Toy Story Mania was my favorite ride and I’m 59.
Love your updates! We travel to Disney in September. I was wondering what the crowds are like in May?
How fun! Man, I really want to go to Hollywood Studios. We just always take 1 day trips (long story) so we always go to the Magic Kingdom. Only once we stayed longer and we went to all the parks except DHS. I’m determined now to coupon my way to Disney, though, so I’m hoping my husband will be on board too and we’ll take a long trip to Disney when we move back to the states in a year or so. :)
Looks like a fun day. Toy Story Mania is one of our favorites. We got the game for Wii, so now we’re ready to kick butt next time.
My son would love to be able to ride Toy Story Mania that many times in one day.
Go to the Sci Fi dine in if you do a table service at Hollywood Studios again. It is great.
looks like your having a great time! …my daughter wants to know if goofy likes hotdogs…i told her we would have to ask him next time we saw him!
We love Hollywood Studios! Your day sounds fabulous!
We rode Toy Story Mania four times one day!We went to Toy Story first thing in the morning–rode the ride and got fastpasses for later. Then, we won the magical fastpasses (offered during A Year of a Million Dreams) TWICE and were able to ride two more times that day! It was a blast!

My son will get his first ears this year also. Toy Story mania sounds awesome!
Kristin….I love your recap of your DHS day. We missed that park on our trip…but its on the agenda for our next trip. I gotta say…there is something about those Mickey Popcorn Ears cause my son who is 3 wanted them as well. We talked him out of them LOL. Love hearing all about your trip.
