Welcome back on board the Disney Wonder… Your cruise director Crazy Mom has a lot in store for you today; there is so much to do and to explore, so come on, hop on board and let’s set sail….
Once you are on board on any one of the Disney Cruise ships, the first thing before we disembark is the Safety Drill; So come on grab your orange life vests and let’s walk to our assigned station. To me that is the most annoying part of the cruise; I know it’s needed and totally understandable, BUT.. trying to get a 1 year old to wear this silly jacket, that is HUGE and then stand on deck in the HOT Florida sun for 20 min is just a torture… however the nice Shipmates are very understandable and may break the rules a little for the “tiniest” passengers, but they are very strict for everyone else….…. Once the drill is over it’s on to PARTY TIME…. Whohoooo let the vacation begin….
First thing to do is get on Deck for the Sail Away Party… All your Favorite Characters will be at the party and dance and get the Party Started…. This is a lot of fun… you hear the ship horn blow and that’s the start of your Sailaway Party to a Magical Dream Vacation on Disney Cruise Line….. To me that’s always a big memory and just writing this gives me chills and I wish I was there on the ship for the next Sail Away Party…. So Join, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and the gang for a Magical Dream Vacation …… this is just the beginning…. Dance and just relax Mom and Dad.. NO Cell Phones, No Computers just you, the family and your favorite Disney Characters.. and maybe a Pina Colada or two… what more can you ask for…..
First thing on your agenda… what there is an agenda?? NOPE… best part, do what you please…!! I do suggest you stop by your room to get your Personal Navigator and see what there is planned for tonight. Your Personal Navigator will have ALL activities, all movies, all shows, everything that is happening in the kids & Teen club as well as all the “Scheduled” Character appearances. I say “Scheduled” appearances, because there is a Character that pops up at any given time in unexpected places like the Hallway… check out our pic’s .. all we did was walk to our room and who comes down the Hallway… Captain Mickey….. yup.. he spend a good 5 minutes with us interacting with the kids and having fun… BEST part… NO LINES!!!! You do not spend all your vacation in line to meet the characters, you don’t have to worry about 3PM is Mickey time we HAVE to be there…. That’s the great thing cruising with Disney, you only have a limited number of people that come see the characters and they spend plenty of time with you, and the “surprise visits “are just the most memorable ones, because “Mickey” and gang just came to see YOU!!! Just make sure you bring your camera EVERY where !!! You never know what will pop up next.
So let’s check out Port Personal Navigator for a Minute…. That’s the key on what to do and what not to miss… after all, you are still there to have fun and get entertained. Here is a sample of an Personal Navigator, each day is different and each cruise is different, but that gives you an idea on what to look forward to..
Some tips about the Navigator:
Travelers with different age groups like to bring Highlighters in different colors and give each kid a Personal Navigator and a different color highlighter and let the kids create their own itinerary and at dinner time the entire family can look at what everyone’s plans are or likes and make a “Family” navigator and enter all the activities with the different colors that each person likes to do, or come up with a game plan for the next day. You can get extra Navigators at the Front desk.
I like to look at my navigator at the end of the night, they are always on the bed and I just like to relax and see what we can get into the next day
Get extra navigators and store them away, they will make wonderful scrapbook memorabilia and if you have a bunch you can also cut out the pictures etc and use on your scrapbook pages… I scanned mine and used them on an album as a background….
Lot of ideas, just remember bring some home, so you can always create memories after your cruise….
So now you are familiar with your Navigator….. see you next time when we will explore more cool features on the Disney Cruise Ships….. Ahoy Mate….. Till we meet again.. Your Cruise Director Crazy Mom…..
