Here’s the latest deposit to the Disney fund. I think my little ones ran off with my change when I wasn’t looking.
$1.16 in spare change
$100 Walmart Gift Card from Christmas (I used it at Walmart and took $100 in cash out of our grocery budget. Details here.)
$25.64 in cash back from Ebates (for Christmas Shopping)
$5 from Saving Star
$131.80 added to the Disney fund. $892.23 saved since November 12th, 2011. My goal is $3,000. No trip date set yet.
I want you to learn how to grow your own fund too! If you are new to couponing, start with the Getting Started Couponing Series, followed by the How To Start Your Fund series. Remember you can use these savings principles to save for anything you want from Disney trips to paying off debt to buying a new television. As the great Walt Disney said “If you can dream it, you can do it!”
Kristin,
Thanks for all the tips. I’m enjoying your blog. I also got the Disney $40 GC for listening to the DVC tour. I hold my Disney GC’s to add to our annual passport renewal for Disneyland. When some of the survey companies I participate in only pay in Debit cards, I use those funds to purchase more Disney GC’s.
On a side note, I’m heading to the Disney Aulani in a couple of days. I’ll have to report back on what it’s like.
Happy Easter.
I love seeing how much you have saved. I’m working on a fund….it is a slow process for me. You have taught me so much about so many ways to save that I have never thought of. I tell everyone about your site. Thank you for all the work you do.
I bought new cell phones and my 3 $50 rebates came in the mail. I put them into my disney fund for our Oct trip. I save my change too. We also collect pop cans when we walk out here in the country. Friends give us cans too and it all adds up!
Sooooooo excited for you!!!!!!!! I love when we calculate our deposit for the week!!!! (This week will be a big shocker for the kids since we earned a $20.00 gift card from Target from a purchase for an Easter gift!!!!) Kepp up the good work!!!
Thanks for sharing all your deposts with us! When are you thinking of taking your trip? The promos are out now for summer and free dining is out for fall, you should get something planned:)
We really aren’t sure yet! Maybe not until next year.
I swear this is my favorite part of your blog
You go girl. You are an inspiration to me and my family. I even have my husband couponingtodisney (He said I never thought Id understand you and your coupons and now he wont shop without them.) GO COUPONERS
It adds up so much faster when you’re both on board :)
I have been a reader for a while. I had a bunch of points from Carnival with no plans of taking a cruise with them ( we would cruise with someone else) and Carnival just started offering redemption of points for gift cards, so I cashed in our points for $300 in gift cards to one store, and will take $300 out of our budget and put it in our Disney Fund, which is growing at a pretty rapid rate lately ( we have a trip planned for January).
I’m thinking of doing this with some of DH’s hotel points. We were going to use them ALL to go to Disney and stay off site but with free dining we decided to stay on property so the points are just sitting there begging to be used!
That’s awesome!
You inspired our family to start a Disney fund too! We are saving money for annual passes. We have two goals: to save $1994 to pay for the passes and for my daughter to be 40 inches tall so she can go on most of the rides. Since December we have a little over $900 saved and my daughter has 3 inches left to grow. I think we’ll have the money before she hits our height requirement! : ) Thanks for the inspiration!
Wow! You’ll be there in no time!
You are so good and so disciplined.
It took me a while to get there.. :) Could always be better, though!
Your blog is so inspiring! I love that you’re saving for something that most people save years for simply by making better/wiser choices when it comes to your budget – AND – saving those “windfalls”, no matter how “small”!
I love how you put the change in! My son is a change stealin fool. There is never a penny layin around that he doesn’t get his paws on!
The change really adds up over time…
WOW! Awesome! :)
I love how bits here and there add up.
Wow! It’s amazing how quickly the money savings start to add up.
I’m always pretty shocked by it! :)
