We are here for my mom’s 60th birthday dinner. We loved it! We even had escargot as an appetizer, champagne, wine, dessert. It was amazing! It was also our first meal in the parks, and was the standard for all others!
We went here to celebrate our 9 year olds birthday. I was very gald that we had reseverations as the line out the door was very long. The food was great and the waiters were wonderful! They treated her like a princess and she fell in love. She has decided that she wants to get married here, I think we are in trouble.
we went a few years back and the food was delicious i really loved the apps. we had one of each and the mac and cheese!!!… we had a great waiter who “strived” to make all happy (especially the women” lol everyone was very friendly and they tried to help when my unhappy dd was having a bad day. that is also how we met Belle!!!! we went out to give the other patrons a break from her crying and Belle was standing outside all alone!!!! (was about 1pm)
We’ve eaten here three times. The most recent time, we were seated in the front room surrounded by glass windows. It was evening and we had a great view of Epcot! The atmosphere was great. We’ve also always had great experiences with waiters and waitresses. They’ve been so friendly each time we visit.
ONCE YOU FINALLY GET IN!!!! It’s a GREAT place! We had ressies at 7:30 one night and waited for WELL over an hour to get in. They weren’t even doing the ressies the same way that I am used to at Disney. People were walking up and getting seatted before were!!! It was our first 1/2 a day at Disney. We’d just flown in around 3:30pm and only had a small snack, because we knew we were going to have a big meal and we didn’t want to ruin it. My kids were such troopers that night! They were probably more patient than I was.
When we FINALLY got our seats, we were actually happy that we had to wait! We were seated out by the windows and our appitizers were served with the HUGE sound/light and fireworks show. We had the perfect view and my girls said that it was a very good way to start our Disney Magic!
We were on the dinning plan and had a great meal here. It started off with this amazin bowl of French onion soup, which COULD HAVE BEEN MY FULL MEAL!!! It was filling, because of all the REALLY GOOD cheese and bread! I would go here next time, JUST for the Onion soup itself!!! I still managed to eat most of my outstanding meal though. My husband and I had Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms. OH MY GOODNESS it was sooooo good. The short ribs were very tender, didn’t even need a knife! It almost had the ‘melt in your mouth’ texture and the sauce was perfectly done, lots of flavors that complimented eachother. I didn’t eat MUCH of the pasta that it was served on top of, but most of my meat was eatten.
My kids both got the Cheese puff pastry appitizer and Ground beef steak in a brioche bun, served with French fries and it was also very good! The dessert choice for us was Profiteroles au chocolat. Oh, my oh, my!!! Yum. I almost didn’t even want it, because I was SOOOOOOOO Stuffed! But, my girls got their dessert to go (we brought it back to the room for later) and we all shared two orders of the profiteroles. They were flaky, creamy and the sweetness wasn’t tooooooo overdone, which made them a great treat. They were light and airy, not too filling either- which helped us tremendously!
I so much wanted to have a good experience here that maybe that’s why I didn’t. (My sister’s family had a bad experience, too, though, so maybe it’s the restaurant). We wanted a special meal at World Showcase, but traveling with kids, we wanted it to be kid-friendly. So we chose this place because of Remy. The food really was good. But our waitress was horrible–rude, bored, inattentive, etc. Her English was bad, so I guess that was part of the problem. The manager wasn’t much better. They were not at all in-touch with special diets (GFCF) like other WDW restaurants, even though I contacted them beforehand. And Remy… Where’d he go? I asked about him 3X, always being assured he’d “be right out.” We were done with dessert and waiting around for him before he came–almost skipping our table! Waiting around after a meal is about the worst thing you can ask children to do! We won’t go back.
One of my favorite restaurants on Disney property I can not say enough about how great this restaurant is. The food is delicious, from appetizer to dessert you will not be disappointed. The staff while they take a long time to come around thus making your meal last at least an hour and a half, are very pleasant and in all honestly this is how they do it in France. The wine was very good if not a bit on the pricey side. For 1 table service meal you’ll feel like you got a bargain. I heartily recommend the chicken with the to die for fingerling potatoes. If you time it right you’ll also get to meet Remy from Ratatouille! Making this a surprise character meal. (I was lucky enough to meet him both times I went here)
I TOTALLY AGREE! For 1 Table service meal, this place is amazing! The amounts of food and the QUALITY of the food makes it a great deal!
My family ate here only once a few years ago. Being the french restaurant I was expecting great things and for the first time on Disney property I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The services was very slow and the waitress was not completely horrible, but I wouldn’t classify her as good, maybe indifferent at best. The food was actually pretty terrible especially considering the meal cost $120.00. The bread was dry, the meat was all over cooked and the side dishes were soggy, flavorless mush. We will never eat here again.
Had the prix fixe lunch in August. Very good, although I remember the food being better years ago. May just be a more sophisticated palate these days! Service was lovely. Rent was a hit. We’ll be back…maybe for dinner!
My daughter and I chose to eat at Les Chefs de France when we were unable to secure an ADR at the Coral Reef. I still haven’t been to the Coral Reef (but I have an ADR for next week), but I am glad we went here instead. The food was the best I have ver had on a Disney property. The food was scrumptious. I can recommend both my roast chicken and her short ribs. Everyone around us seemed to share our delight. The wait staff, all truly French, were fantastic.
We have been here several times and have never been disappointed, I always get the prixe fixe. My Mom is french so she loves to go and talk to the staff. The french onion soup is wondeful, we have had no complaints. The highlight for the kids was of course when Remi appears on the cheese tray.
This place was my biggest disappointment. I really wish we hadn’t eaten here and it was the most expensive but thanks to the dining plan we didn’t have to pay the bill. I wanted to go here because I am a graduate from Le Cordon Bleu I LOVE french food (didn’t find this to be very true to french cuisine) and I had to meet Remy! However to my dismay Remy doesn’t make appearances on Sundays :( wish it had said that on Disney’s website which just claimed he was there 6 days a week but it is always Sunday per the restaurant staff. On top of that we were seated in a sun room type area that had no shades what so ever and the sun was beating down right in our faces so much we could hardly see each other. We also had to wait a very long time for our food and then once complete we waited another 35 mins for our check. Very disappointing and I won’t be returning to this restaurant.
My husband and I went here for the first time last week, and we were disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful, and the service is excellent. The food was not so great, in our opinion. We really enjoyed the soups- he had French onion and I had the lobster bisque. The main dishes were so-so to blah. My husband had a beef dish with noodles- okay. And I had the salmon. The salmon itself was pretty good, but the side dishes were so bad– a plain boiled potato, and a lump of plain cooked spinach-not one spice or sauce on either one. I thought it had to be a mistake! The desserts were really good, but definitely not worth the $100 we paid for only two people. Would not go there again
Had lunch at Les Chefs earlier this month… first time I had dined here. Service was outstanding! Our waitress, Miriam, was a total sweetheart. Food was great and as usual per Disney standards, HUGE portions. I ate here with my mom and sister, and we all agree we’d love to go back sometime!
its’ always funny to me how reviews differ and in this case it was at the same table, eating the exact same thing!! My main reason for wanting to book Les Chefs de France was for the escargot! Ironically enough I was first introduced to it in Disney many years ago when I was a child and have loved it ever since! My mother and I both ordered it, my daughter was repulsed by what we were about to eat and we just laughed at her. My mother also became repulsed when she tasted it, she said it was too slimy and sent it back vowing that this had turned her off for good! I loved it, thought it was as good as I’ve ever had and didn’t leave a drop of sauce left!!! I also am an extremely picky eater and my mother is not so go figure!?? Just keep in mind when reading reviews that every opinion will vary.
Ate here a few weeks ago with 2 of my girlfriends on our annual girls only vacation trip. We decided to eat here on a whim and were immediately shown to a table for a later lunch. All of the staff are from France & speak French. Great service & staff. 3 course meal was delicious. Especially the French Onion soup & Creme Brulee. Remy the Rat was very cute & entertaining. Nice open airy restaurant for lunch or dinner. I recommend it.
Ate here during our last trip in Aug. 2007. Had the escargot, a daily special ( a shrimp dish) and creme brulee. Everything was delicious. In fact my three kids who were with me at the time each ate and really enjoyed half of my escargots (they were only 7, 5 and 2 at the time!) Can’t wait for our trip coming up next week. We will be eating at Les Chefs de France on Tuesday!
I have to agree with Jennifer. We have done this one twice and weren’t impressed either time. BUT it’s like all of the other Epcot restaurants, we all have our favorites! I might try it again if Remy is there LOL!
I eaten at Les Chefs de France several times and it never fails to impress. It is a very typical French restaurant, with bistro style seating so you can watch the crowds roll by. The only downside I ever had was when my husband and I decided we would share the filet de boeuf – the portion size was also very French, only about 4 oz of steak. We laughed it off and still had a great time, but keep in mind this is not the portion size you would get in an American restaurant. The crème brûlée made up for any possible qualms anyway – delicious :)
*Definitely make your reservation as early as you can! This one fills up very fast, so to get the time you want, I recommend calling them or going to the France pavilion first thing on arriving at the park.
Maybe it’s gotten better, we ate here years ago and swore to never go back. I have not eaten french onion soup since and the thought of it makes my husband and I sick. Whenever a waitress lists french onion as a soup of the day we both involuntarily gag.
We loved our lunch at Les Chefs. Food was good; service was prompt and super friendly. The restaurant itself is beautiful-bright, light and airy. And the visit(allbeit short) with Remy was a huge hit with all of us-myself, dh, 20 something son and teenage son with autism.
This is absolutely my family’s favorite Epcot restaurant! We dine here on each trip and have never been disappointed. I have two teenage daughters and they both insist on returning here on each trip. The food is wonderful. Service has always been efficient and friendly. The only downside is that the tables are fairly close together, even by Disney standards. Still, it is a must do for us, if nothing else then for the creme brulee…which my husband swears is the best on Disney property.
oops sorry about last post it was at La cellier steak house we were at not chef de france, that place was awsome love it there…my son is a chef and said it was the best….sorry about wrong post.
i went last may with a good friend and use the dinning plan thought it was just one credit as its always been, i had been there a few times and the food was great loved it, this time it switched to 2 meal credits and the food was so bad, sent it back 3 times they couldnt get the steaks right…thought maybe it was just us but the table next to us had the same problem and the one behind us did too.
they didnt want to adjust the bill at all we never ate the food and ended up walking out. i would never recommend it again.
Disney needs to step it up if your gonna charge 2 meal credits for this place
My husband and I ate here for dinner on our Disney honeymoon last year. The service was friendly and Remy the rat from Ratatouille greeted us. (I was so surprised that I accidentally dropped my camera into my onion soup. Thank God it’s okay. The camera smells yummy for the rest of the day though.) The French onion soup and Lobster Bisque was great. The roasted chicken was quite big. It was great at first but at the end I can’t finish it just because I had too much of it. My husband had Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, and I wish I had those too. It was delicious. For dessert I had the Gauteau au chocola. It was good but not really that special. I like my husband’s Profiteroles au chocolat better.
We definitely would come back to the restaurant for the food and the sweet memory.
We’ve eaten here twice. The second time just to see if it was as bad as we remembered. The food was sort of fake french. The pate plate was good as was the cheese plate. But you can get the exact same cheese plate in the bakery around back for about HALF the price they charge here.
Skip this one, save your money and have a real french dinner experience upatairs at Bistro de Paris. Yes it is expensive, but it is also some of the best food I have ever eaten.
I dined there about 4 years ago. We made an early dinner reservation for 5pm to beat the crowds. Everyone at the restaurant was super friendly, and they all had great French accents. We asked our waiter if he was actually from France, and he said that mostly everyone that worked at their restaurant was hired from their country. The food was very authentic. My 3 gal pals all gave a try to the escargot (I was too chicken to try it), but I was able to get a 3-course meal that was reasonably priced. I chose a meal called “A Taste of France” which came with french onion soup with gruyere cheese, ham & cheese on a baguette, and creme brulee. Everything was delicious! I totally recommend it. Plus, right outside of their location, there is a demonstration that these men put on. They balance chairs upon chairs high in the air. It was fun! Plus, I saw Belle from Beauty in the Beast nearby as well. Definitely give it a shot!
My sister and I dined here during a girls weekend a few years ago. We had a great time! We tried a variety of things, I think the waiters were kind of shocked that we ate everything! I remember the Assiette campagnarde – a variety of pates and sliced meats, it was very nice, especially with fresh French bread. The French onion soup was wonderful, nice and cheesy. The escargot was okay, I am not a huge fan of this, as I feel it is mostly the herbs and garlic you taste, and not so much the snails themselves. I do remember the creme brulee was fabulous. The inside is quaint, and the staff was very friendly and patient, especially given our indecisiveness as what to order. I would definitely visit again.
