I haven’t posted a deposit to the Disney fund in almost a month. I didn’t realize it had been so long.
$35 – Winn-Dixie had a sale where you got $5 off a $50 gift card. I bought 7 $50 Shell gift cards and paid just $315 for $350 worth of gas. I took the $350 out of our monthly gas budget and replaced it with gift cards. I added the $35 in cash to the fund.
$20 in various rebate checks
$0.78 in spare change (We aren’t spending much cash right now since our Disney Chase Visa is giving us 5% back on grocery, gas and restaurant purchases since we upgraded our card. I plan to just add that entire amount to the fund at once.)
$100 – Hubby took the kids and his mom to Texas for a week to visit her family (I stayed here at home to work on the blog and do other things around the house). He came in under budget so we are putting that money towards Disney!
$155.78 added to the Disney fund. $1373.62 saved since November 12th, 2011 (see past deposits here). My goal is $3,000. Likely going in Jan 2013.
I want you to learn how to grow your own fund too! If you are new to couponing, start with the Getting Started Couponing Series, followed by the How To Start Your Fund series. Remember you can use these savings principles to save for anything you want from Disney trips to paying off debt to buying a new television. As the great Walt Disney said “If you can dream it, you can do it!”

Yay!!! I was having some serious withdrawl! Way to go everyone!!! I don’t mean to yell, but I’m just so excited to see how well everyone is doing! My 4 year old has her own form of savings going on, and to date she has earned almost $30 dollars, not including the pennies we add to her bank.
So far this month has not been the greatest due to some unforseen circumstances, but I have $9 from pinecone, and close to $20 in change.
Hoping to go either at Christmas 2012 or early August 2013.

Oh how I wish some of our grocery sotres around here did that!

I was looking through our local grocery store sales ads (Weis Markets & Giant/PA) earlier today and noticed that if you buy $50 worth of gift cards you get a $10 coupon off your next purchase. While we were out today I bought $100 worth of Disney gift cards and then used the 2 $10.00 coupons to purchase some meat for approx 50 cents out of pocket… it’s like a win-win! We are planning a trip to WDW in late November so this is a great way to pay on our trip and get some “free” food in return. It’s definitely fun finding “free” money and stretching our dollars as far as possible!

Great job Kristin! We are doing the same thing and just starting rolling change that we’ve been putting in the family vacation barrel to exchange at the bank. I’m really hoping we can meet our goal of $3000 by the time we leave in December/January for New Years. I need to start paying attention to deals on gift/cash cards because I don’t normally purchase those but it’s a great idea.

Great job! We are currently rolling our change to exchange at the bank and have saved a little over 600.00 in about a year. I’m trying to up the savings since we are going in September and really want to use only what we’ve saved.

Awesome!
I did great adding to my fund today alone! We are up to just under $1300 for our fund (going May 2013). Today I added:
$101 for consigning my children’s clothes
$45 in a return from something I bought FOREVER ago!
$10 in a gift card special like the one you described above (the Stop and Shop promotion – I bought a $50 Disney gift card w/ money from my fund, got back $10 for my next purchase and just took that $10 out of my grocery budget).
Thank you for inspiring my family to save like this – a big Disney trip wouldn’t have been possible otherwise!
