$43.73 in cash back from ShopAtHome.com
$10 rebate check
$22.54 in spare change (we found a bag in the attic when we were cleaning out that had a ton of change in it! No telling how that bag got into the attic and it’s been there for at least 4 years.)
$20 – offered 2 friends a ride and they gave me gas money. I told them I would put it in the fund since I was driving there anyways.
$43.99 – Cancelled our gym membership through the holidays. There is no way we can find the time to go for the next 3 months. Hubby works retail and we are moving next month, so there is no time! We decided to cancel it so we can rejoin with a better deal.
$2.50 – Earned Fuel Perks at Winn Dixie and used them at Shell. I love Fuel Perks!
$26.52 – Disney Dream Dollars earned with my Disney Premier Visa this statement
$49.86 – Because we have stockpiled so much food in the past few months, we didn’t have to do a lot of grocery shopping the past couple of weeks. My daughter had to make an unexpected visit to the Dentist, and since we had so much food, we decided we would take the dentist bill out of the grocery budget and eat out of our stockpile as much as we could. We paid the bill, put $40 in my children’s lunch accounts (they get lunch at school only on Fridays, so this money will last them through Christmas) ate out of the stockpile and still had $49.86 left!
$219.14 added to the Disney fund this week! $2803.56 saved since November 12th, 2011 (see past deposits here). Our goal is $3587. Going the end of January 2013 (see our pending budget here).
I want you to learn how to grow your own fund too! If you are new to couponing, start with the Getting Started Couponing Series, followed by the How To Start Your Fund series. Remember you can use these savings principles to save for anything you want from Disney trips to paying off debt to buying a new television. As the great Walt Disney said “If you can dream it, you can do it!”
Wow, you are so creative when it comes to saving money for vacation! I picked up some great ideas here. Thank you!
So exciting to see how your fund is growning. Anxiously awaiting your next update. Don’t leave us in suspense. lol
This is so encouraging to watch how this adds up. I’m also so impressed with how you were able to pay the dentist bill from groceries and still have money left over for the fund. Do you meal plan ahead of time?
$3587 goal — this made me go read the break down of that too. I was expecting an “even” number like $4000.
I’ll be looking forward to reading about how you get to your goal (and probably save enough to begin the next fund) and reading about your trip!
I thought you’d be adding the $$ from your garage sale to the fund?? I love these posts, you are so inspiring.
I did that one a couple weeks ago. I noticed that I forgot to include it in the Our Disney Fund 2012 category, but it is there now if you want to check it out. :)
I have to make a deposit today. It will be over $300, but not sure how much. I haven’t been doing as much driving since the kids are back in school, so I only have to fuel up every 10-12 days. I put my gas money that I don’t use into my Disney fund. Our trip to Disneyland is paid for (that is in January) but I want to do the Coast to COast challenge in 2014, so I have to save up mega bucks. The C2C is running a 1/2 mararthon in Walt Disney World, and running a 1/2 mararthon at Disneyland in the same year. My goal is the Princess in Feb 214 at WDW and the Disneyland half in Sep 2014 (although I think the Tinkerbell would be much more fun but that is in Jan 2014).
Awesome job! You are truly an inspiration! Thanks to you I just paid cash for our Disney trip in December! It’s a great feeling knowing we won’t be taking on debt to go on vacation!
Great job! You inspire me. Thanks for all you do!
Are you going to have a Couponing To Disney MEET UP during your trip?? That would be AWESOME!! Please let us know :)
Way to go!! You don’t have far to go now! We are going 2nd week of November for my DD’s birthday, I am so excited!!
That’s awesome! You are a great inspiration to me. I have started my own Disney Fund for a trip in Oct 2013 and I am 1/3 of the way there thanks to your tips and advice! Thanks so much!
