In addition to learning the opening date for Pandora – World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Walt Disney Company Q1 FY17 Earnings call had more exciting news to share. Confirmed by CEO Bob Iger, Star Wars themed Lands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland will be opening in 2019.
No further details on whether this would be towards the beginning of the year, towards the end or sometime over the summer? Whenever it may be, this is something to look forward to in 2019 as Disney expands its parks even further. The 2 new Disney Star War themed lands, at Disneyland (California) and Disney World (Florida) will go down as the largest single-themed expansions to date.
In the lands like nothing guests have seen before are chances to control a Millennium Falcon, meet with characters, see a remote trading port and more all in a unique planet Star wars setting. I look forward to more updates on the progress!
