Disney Park capacity was recently discussed during Walt Disney Q2 2021 earnings call.
Not only are guests happy to be back at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, Cast Members are as well. In fact, at Disney World 80% of cast members of asked Cast Members chose to return to work. On the other coast at Disneyland Resort, more than 10,000 furloughed Cast Members were recalled quickly after being closed more than 400 days.
Bob Chapek, Disney’s chief executive officer, also noted that, “We continue to see strong, growing demand from consumers as we are at or near our reduced capacity levels at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland for the current quarter.”
Therefore, increasing park capacity would make sense. Here is what Bob Capek had to say on doing so, “In terms of the parks and when we’re going to sort of be able to raise our capacity limits. We’ve already started that given the guidance that just came today from the CDC and earlier guidance that we got from the Governor of Florida, we’ve already started to increase our capacities.”
He also understood the burden of masks in the hot summer Florida. Disney World has already relaxed mask use, ending it for outdoor common areas.
What this means for guests, potentially more guests in the parks however, more park reservation availability as well.
