This review comes from my reader Connie…
My aunt is a travel agent. Every Labor Day weekend she gets a very good group rate for a different Disney hotel for friends/family/clients. One year it was the Grand Floridian. There was a hurricane when we stayed there that year so a lot of the time we had to stay in the room. The rooms are decorated Victorian Style and have balconys. They are average size rooms. VERY clean as I have found with ALL on property hotels. From our room you could see the top of Cinderellas Castle..The restaurants were closed when the hurricane was going thru but they served sandwiches and chips in the lobby (for only $5) The staff was very protective and the hotel had their staff stay there on site overnight in one of the banquet halls. They set up an activity room in another banquet hall for the kids to keep them busy during the hurricane. They had Disney Movies, crafts, coloring, games, etc….This is Disney “hurricane style” hahaha… Anyways… This hotel has many, many amenities…Health spa, laundry room, pools, Mickey boats, etc…My favorite pool because it has a slide!! and the Mickey Boats because they are awesome! We only had time (with the hurricane and all) to eat at 1900 Park Fare andit was the breakfast buffet which was very good. To get around from the Grand Floridian you do not need to worry about a bus except if going to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios…For Epcot and Disneyworld, you can take the Monorail or the Boat. I would stay at Grand Floridian again but it is not my favorite!!! (mostly because it is not economical)
