We ate here on one of our past trips and we weren’t overly impressed. It is great if your kids love these specific characters though.

Does anyone know if Sopia the First has joined the characters at H V???
We ate at Hollywood and Vine earlier this month. We opted for the Fantasmic Dining Package. You pay full price and included is 1 pass per person for that nights Fantasmic show. You get to go straight into Fantasmic (at a special entrance) and not have to endure the 60 to 90 minute wait that most people have to. Also, there is a special section reserved for people with this special pass. IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I would do it again. I guess I am one of those people who don’t like to wait if there is a way around it. Loved the buffet!! The food was wonderful at Hollywood and Vine. The selection was much larger than I had expected, They even had a small kids section on the buffet with pizza, fries, mac and cheese, etc. Desserts were equally as fabulous. The Heath Toffee Mousse was yummy!! I highly recommend H & V the next time you visit Disney World,
My two year liked the character experience at Hollywood and Vine, he just did not love it like other Disney character encounters. The food is the similar to other character meals; however, I think this character dinning experience just lacks the Mickey or other main Disney character magic experience. I think these Disney characters are more of a nitch for those who like these specific characters. There was nothing wrong with our experience, we just had a memorable time with Pooh at the Crystal Palace or Donald and Mickey at Tusker House Breakfast (Donald’s Safari).
We went here 2 weeks ago for lunch, my Son loves Oso, Handy Manny, Leo, and June. The character interfaction is great, they even do this dance thing about every 20 minutes and invite the kids to dance with them. For this reason we will problably go back, however it will not be for the food. The food was terrible, I only took a bite of each of the things I put on my plate that is all I could stomach. The desserts are good, but are sweet so you can’t fill up on those.
We ate at the Hollywood and Vine in July. It was our first trip to Disney and I believe that it was our first character dining so this was a new experience for us. When we got there, we waited outside until our reserved time. Once we were inside, the characters were everywhere. We meet most of the characters before our meal. The characters were Hanny Manny, Special Agent Oso, June, and Leo. My kids were in heaven. After we settled down we went to the buffet and got our food. The food was really good. They had a kids section which included mac & cheese and chicken nuggets and then there was a variety of food for the adults. The dessert there is really good. I would recommend this to anyone. The best part was that we was out of the heat and we had the characters come to us so that we didn’t have to wait in the long lines.
We ate here for breakfast and we felt very rushed! The food was good and the kids loved seeing the characters. We had dinner her another night and I was not thrilled with the buffet choices.
My husband would say this is a great place to eat, but me being the picky eater didn’t eat much here. I went up and looked at the buffet and the food I would have preferred was at the lowered buffet, which is great for kids, but I felt too ridiculous to serve myself from the lowered counter like I was stealing the kids food or something. I wish they could have put some chicken nuggets at the adult buffet. However there was a lot of food and my husband tried a lot of different things that he enjoyed. Service was excellent and I was happy to get some ice cream for dessert, but I probably won’t make reservations here again. Actually when I got up to use the restroom and saw the 50’s Prime Time that was adjoined by a hallway it looked so neat with each table area looking like the family kitchen of the 50’s era I wished I had made reservations there.
we did the Fantasmic! package a few years ago. We won’t be returning unless we just have no other choice. Golden Corral is better!! Oh my. Even the kids weren’t impressed. No atmosphere, just edible food…no thanks.
Had Christmas Day dinner at Hollywood and Vine with my whole family. Dinner was very good..staff was wonderful! After a great meal we spent the evening in awe of the Osbourne Family Lights. Only down side was they have taken away the characters at dinner..It used to be so much fun with them there! Never can understand some of Disney changes.. None the less we had a most perfect Christmas day at Disney!
We were there for a character breakfast last week. It was one of the best experiences that we had a Disney. The food was typical buffet food. If I had paid $100.00 for the 4 of us to eat there without the characters I would have been very disappointed. However we didn’t go for the food we went for the characters. Everyone of them spent alot of time with my 3 year old. They came over sat at our table, stayed awhile. I didnt feel that they were rushed. They posed for pictures an even personalized their autographs in my son’s book (OSO loves Brenden, etc). The high light of the breakfast was at the end. Handy Manny came backover and sat next to my 15 year old son. Who was having about as much fun as you and I would have at the dentist. All of a sudden Manny started hugging and kissing him. My 3 year old loved it. He even did it agin because I didn’t have my camera ready. As we were leaving ALL of the characters came backover and started hugging and kissing my 15 year old. It was so funny. The smiles in the pictures I took were well worth every penny spent. Both of my boys will always remember that day as will I.
Such a fun dining experience! We went here with my two year old in February. Lots of kid friendly food (chicken nuggets, etc.) plus great salads and sandwiches for adults. There are a lot of characters that come around to see your children, plus they have the children come up and dance with the characters as well as do a parade. It is a lot of fun for young children, and if you are on the dining plan, I would recommend going here!!!
we ate at hollywood & vine during our 2010 trip. my daughter is obsessed with little einsteins so this was perfect for her. i have to say the waitress we had was extrememly slow and the food wasn’t as good as I had hoped.
We ate here when they had just started doing this Playhouse Disney character breakfast. At that time the characters were two of the Little Einsteins and Jojo and Goliath (from Jojo’s Circus). It was such a fun non-crowded character meal. They got the kids up and dancing with the characters and at that time my son was a HUGE Little Einsteins fan so this was a highlight of the trip for him. I don’t remember the food all that much, but it is one of those meals I would definitely do if my kids were into the characters that are featured there. So much better than waiting in line to see them, they come to you!
Love, love, love Hollywood and vine. The food is great the service is great and my 4 year old loves getting up to dance with the characters they do that like every 15 min. or so. We go ever year and one of the best surprises for us this year was that special agent OSO was there and my daughter adores him so she was super excited to see him. We try to get the early breakfast before the park opens so we can eat and get right in line for opening so we can fast pass our beloved toy story mania ride.
This place is where our family felt the most “disney magic”. We went right in between breakfast and lunch which was awesome because the characters came over to our table multiple times and my 4 year old son was playing with some new disney buses we bought him when Leo and June from the Little Einsteins actually came over and sat on the floor playing with the buses and my son for about 15 minutes. My son brings this up very often and says that Leo is his best friend now. I know this probably rarely happens because even the servers where coming over and laughing and kept telling other employees to come check it out. It really made my son feel so special and made our last day at Disney so great! I really can’t think them enough.
Hollywood and Vine is one of our favorite character meals. We do have 2 young kids (3&4 now) but we have eaten at hollywood and vine several times and for all 3 meals. We think the food is great and the service is always great here. My daughter has food allergies and the chef’s at this location really go above and beyond every time! My daughter wanted a pickle for breakfast when we were there in December and he rounded one up for her. She was so happy. Also we went there in the middle of a 10 night trip where we had been trying to get rice milk for her for the entire week. Out hotel kept telling us they had calls in to all the other hotels and check back tomorrow. When we would check they didn’t have it. I asked at hollywood and vine and told them about my trouble getting her milk, he brought me an entire container of rice milk to get us through the week. The character interaction at this meal is better than any other. You always get to see the characters more than once and they spend a lot of time with you. Plus the kids get to get up and dance with the characters and it is so much fun. Last year we ate here on MY birthday, and we are going back in May again for MY birthday. They have a salad here that, to me, is so good it is worth going here just for that. It has olives and artichoke hearts, and it is yummy! Anyway to sum it up we LOVE hollywood and vine, and we have been to every character meal at disney multiple times so we have a lot of other meals to compare it to.
My boys loved this breakfast and the characters spent a lot of time with us. The earliest reservation they offered us was 9 and we were the first family of the day. They made a big day of this and gave us a special certificate for that. The food was fine…typical buffet food. I am not sure the restaurant offers the 8 am enter the park early reservation. I would recommend this breakfast if your kids are familiar with the characters.
We always go to Hollywood & Vine with the characters and we just went this March. The kids love the characters. I like the food and generally the experience. We’ve also eaten there for dinner without the characters and enjoyed it then as well.
We have eaten both breakfast and lunch here. The food is nothing special but my 15 month old liked it, and she liked dancing to the music. We always have good service and the characters are great, it can get a little noisy so if you don’t have kids its probably best to go for dinner. But we plan to go back again next time.
This is one I’m considering for our next trip. My 3 yr. old LOVES Oso, and I believe this is the only place we can see him. I also read/heard rumors that Phineas and Ferb will be joining this character meal, but I don’t know if it’s confirmed or what the time frame will be. Does anyone else know anything about this? My 6 yr. old would be thrilled!!!
I have not heard about them joining the meal but starting mid-may they will be at Hollywood studios.
Our family went back in ’07. We really liked the atmosphere & characters, very cute. The drinks we ordered, albeit pricey, came with light-up icecubes (we still have them LOL). We weren’t too crazy about the food though. It wasn’t terrible, but just so-so. It was our least favorite and now that my kids are out of the Playhouse Disney age, we won’t be going back.
We ate her a few years ago for breakfast. The fodd was standard buffet style. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. The character interaction was great. The kids got up & danced with Little Einsteins. My kids are older now & not into that so I doubt we would go back.
We got a last minute, day before reservation for lunch here when our plans changed, and it ended up being one of our favorite character meals. The food was fine, I am not a huge fan of buffets so I’m not the best judge. The character interaction was great. My son got go dance to “Jump Up” by the Imagination Movers with Handy Manny, which I was able to get on video and is one of my favorite memories of the trip. My kids really aren’t into Little Einsteins and they had no idea who Jo-Jo was, but they still loved meeting them. I’m excited that Oso is there now, that will be a nice addition. We plan on eating there again when we visit this fall.
This meal just seemed more interactive than the other meals – lots of things going on that the kids were able to join in on.
If you have toddlers who are fans of the Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, or Oso then this is a great character meal for you! We ate breakfast there and the food was pretty standard, but decent. However, the character interaction was awesome and my daughter LOVED it both times we ate there (at 2 and 3 years old). The kids are invited to get up to sing and dance with the characters, and we got some really cute videos and pictures!!
We had breakfast with those characters 2 weeks ago when we were at Disney. It was on a Thursday morning, we did not have reservations and we walked right in. We thought the character interaction was great and the food was good too!
We also were not impressed with this restaurant. Food was nothing spectacular and hubby actually commented that ponderosa is better (and he hates ponderosa!) We were there for an hour and didn’t see any characters. Not ever eating there again – so many better places out there!
we (my hubby and I) and we did not like it. it was a dinner package to get better seats for the show later that night. The seats were good but we have found out that if we come right about when the show should start we can usually sit in the last row. The dinner was just a buffet. There are much better places to eat at Disney.
We are there on our last trip. My two year old had an absolute BLAST!! The food wasn’t that great but the desserts were decent. The characters were great, and Jojo and Handy Manny actually came to our table twice. We don’t know anything about Jojo, so we are glad Oso is there now and we are still debating whether we are going to eat there again on our Sept 2011 visit.
We ate here three years ago when Jojo and Goliath were still there as well as the LIttle Einsteins. The characters were awesome!! The desserts were very yummy! The regular food was just so-so though. Would I do it again, probably because we were on the dining plan and my son had a great time and they sand and danced for us which was fun and we got some wonderful photos! :)
We ate at Hollywood and Vine for lunch in November. My daughter, who was 5 at the time very much enjoyed it. She loves the Little Einsteins and Handy Manny. The characters spend a lot of time with the kids and they have a lot of dancing and singing during your meal. I wasn’t impressed with the food, at all. I ate more from the kids buffet than the regular buffet! We were on the dining plan, I don’t know if I would ever actually pay for a meal there. If you have small kids, they would enjoy it a lot. All in all, it was a good CM. But, there are others I would choose first.
