the last two years we have gone the week of Veteren’s day and it was great because we caught the end of Food and Wine and the beginning of Osborne Lights and Christmas decor going up.
And on a another note, MY FAVORITE trip was the year they let you in free on your birthday. We went to Epcot and it was sooooo hot (July). When we made our way to the Around the World, we had a nice cold beer to col off, and then it started to rain. My daughter took a nice power nap in her stroller and when the rain let up, we had another beer and listen to “The Beetles” while it drizzled. Really was the perfect trip
You just almost gave me a heart attack! Night of Joy is at MK, not Epcot. We’re going as chaperones for our church youth group. We’re luckey to live in Florida and go 2 or 3 times a year. We went this March during the ESPN and it was the most crowded I have seen it since I was a little girl!!! (My Dad worked there when I was a kid, so we went toooooo much) Normally we go in May, around the time of my daughters birthday or in July, around the time of my birthday. Yes its hot, but never seems to be to crowded.
Oh no! We are going the first week of December and now I’m worried. I wanted to stay in an All Star resort to save money.
We had our first trip to DW in the end of March/beg of April. We can’t wait to go back! While were there, there was a severe rainstorm, which made for no lines. The next day was beautiful and crowded. We really want to go back and really enjoyed the lack of lines, even though we were soaked. When is the least busy time of year to go to DW? If I could predict the weather, I would totally go in the rain again, lol!
We’re just getting started planning our FIRST trip to Disney. I’m so thankful for all your tips! Having a GREAT time reading all of these things you have posted and using them to plan our trip! Thanks for sharing!! :)
We went last year during the international food and wine festival. My DH and I are foodies, so the wide ranges of foods (and beers) offered during this time were FANTASTIC for us. It really made Epcot a Mom and Dad day of our 7 day trip last fall.
Yes, as Kelly said, there are Disney Gay Days. Some people are unaware and it may cause them to change their trip dates. We were unaware and just returned from Disney the other day. I could care less what others do, but honestly, my 5 yr old had to be exposed to some things that did NOT make me happy in the “Happiest Place on Earth.” As for the crowd factor, we noticed that the crowds were definitely lighter that day (Saturday). Please consider listing “Gay Days” on this master list.
Ok I added it at your suggestion. :0)
I just want to add that these may or may not be a factor, we go every year the last week of April during Epcot’s Flower and Garden show and we have never had to wait in a line more than 5 minutes or fight a crowd for anything. We have done this the past 3 years and it’s an amazing experience. We are getting brave this year and trying again the last week of Sept during the Mickey Not So Scary Halloween Party. We shall see how it goes!
There’s also Disney Gay Days the first week of June. It may or may not matter to some people, or may be worth noting for some. If nothing else, there’s still a crowd factor . WDWInfo has more about it: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-gay-days.htm
