My reader Jennifer emailed me recently to let me know that she had received an offer in the mail to complete a Disney DVC Phone Tour and she would receive a $40 Disney Gift Card! I asked her if she had any idea how she received the offer and she gave me a list of things she has done in the past few years:
- Has a Disney Visa card
- Requested the DVC DVD
- Requested the Disney Vacation Planning DVD
She received the gift card in the mail last week and it is going into her Disney Fund.
Be sure to check your mail to see if you get the same offer. Good luck!
I have taken all the steps as mentioned in the original post. I did receive a phone call the other day that must have been from DVC (I reverse looked up the phone number), but was unable to answer. Was that my only chance of getting the gift card? Will they call again? Will I be emailed and instructed to call to get the gift card? Please advise.
Here’s an update for me. I received the flyer for the phone tour in the mail and finally got around to calling them tonight. The rep told me I did a phone tour last November and so was disqualified. I actually DID NOT do a phone tour last November, but I did order a free DVC DVD, and told her that. She was not moved, and I am not getting my gift card. So my advice to you is never ever order one of those free DVDs unless there is a gift card offer attached to it.
I just got it in the mail and didn’t do anything except have a Disney Visa. I did the tour and the agent was so nice and I felt no pressure at all. My gift card is coming this week. Saving it to use on our next WDW trip in September!
I also received it & completed it. I have the Disney Visa, and did everything else above except request a Vacation Club dvd beforehand. Haven’t gotten my gc yet, but I just did this last week. :-) We went to WDW this past January.
Chiming in to make it four. Did it, my rep was very nice, professional and no-pressure (clearly a relationship-based sales person, NOT a high pressure one). I actually got this over a year ago. I also get their video tour things, where I receive a “limited edition” litho for my participation.
To add to the “bonus” parts of it: 1) we went to WDW at Xmas time last December (and had already booked when I did this). 2) the card was a fairly unique design—when we used it, the cast members wanted to know where we got it!
Plus we entered the DVC sweepstakes every day and played the sweepstakes game that they had.
I got one too and those are pretty much the same things I did :)
I recently got a DVC phone tour offer too. It was pretty painless, you just have to listen to their spiel for at least 10 minutes (my tour lasted about 25 minutes, and it was short in comparison, imho because I didn’t have a whole lot of questions and most of the things they told me, I already knew.) You can only qualify for the reward once every 12 months, and the DO keep track. They are sticklers for it too. One tip I have to share though is, even though you’ve completed the phone tour, hang on to everything until after you’ve received your gift card. I would highly document the length of your tour as well. In order for you to receive the gift card, the sales person conducting the tour has to input a code in order for them to send you the card. If they accidentally entered the wrong code, you won’t get the card. If they’ve ran out of them, you won’t get it in a timely fashion. So you’ll need to call them back and follow up.
